Not sure what the 3-prong connector is that you refer to, but it might be the connector in the bottom of the pic which is part of the wiring going to the marker lights. Hope this helps.

|amerijeep||Congrats on your first jeep. It's a little slow getting replies on the weekends sometimes because these guys are usually out driving their jeeps. I wish I could help you but my headlights are the funny shaped ones. Check back. I know one of these guys with a TJ will help you.|

Headlight Wiring Help Needed for Newbie
Well, my son and I picked up our first Jeep last night (actually its his first vehicle). Its a 2001 TJ Sport and it needs a little work (sort of a father/son project while he waits for his license in 6 months). Anyway, it had been sitting for a little while and had been vandalized (so we got it real cheap) and I need a little help with the wiring for the headlights. Does anyone have a picture of the passenger side headlight wiring. There is what looks to be a ground wire that is not connected to anything that comes out of the harness near the headlight plug and also some type of a junction unit with three posts sticking up out of it with no wires connected to it (its a black round plastic thingy near the passenger side headlight with three posts sticking straight up). Needless to say the lights don't work (also needs a new drivers side headlight). Where should the groud wire be connected and does anyone have a picture of what should be connected to that junction unit or can anyone tell me what its for? Maybe it was an aftermarket item installed by the PO.
I'm sure I'll have more questions to follow and we appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance,
Paul (and son)
