I just picked this up this afternoon. It's a Sar K2 .45, 14+1 capacity, double/single action. The rear sight adjusts for elevation and windage.
EDIT: Here's a better pic:

I posted my Sig P226 9mm Tacops in an earlier post, but now I just added Crimson Trace Grips, a Streamlight TLR-3, and a flush fitting 18 round Mecgar magazine. I also just had SIG do their Action Enhancement Package to it. I found some Federal Premium HST 124 gr +P rounds for it at my local gun store. This is now my primary home defense weapon.

Eight-round magazines for a .45 are sexy, but allow me to suggest that John Browning got it right when he made the magazine a 7-round magazine.
The only thing more important than having an eighth round is having a second round, and a third and so on. The only malfunctions I have experienced in a .45 were changing magazines with full Wilson Combat 8-round magazines in the heat of USPSA competition. It was operator error, but...
Even with an 8-round magazine fully seated at your leisure, sometimes you get a malfunction. There is so much pressure on the bottom of the slide it slows down the cycling and can cause a malfunction. This can happen with other semi-autos also.
A Browning auto-loading rifle, BAR, is my regular hunting rifle. It has been my practice to chamber a round then top off the magazine. Malfunctions were common after the first shot until I stopped topping off the mag. Perhaps more diligent firearm maintenance would improve reliability, but cleaning, lubrication and maintenance is not my strong suit.
My suggestion is; do not top off magazines. Leave one cartridge out for improved reliability. It also gives you a parking place for that loose round when you have to unload your weapon.
While I'm on the subject of malfunctions, here is another tip. Do not use a previously chambered cartridge to top off a magazine after your weapon is charged. Here is what I mean.
Let's say you want to unload your pistol. You drop the magazine and clear the chamber. Let's say when you reload, you insert the magazine, charge the weapon, then drop the magazine and top off the magazine with the cartridge you had in the chamber the last time. This practice can create a problem.
Every time you slam a cartridge into the chamber, specially if you use aggressive hollow points, you may slightly deform the ogive of the bullet. Every time you unload and reload, cartridge number one and cartridge number two trade places and get battered. When you shoot, the deformed cartridge at the top of the magazine may jam between the feed ramp and hood of the barrel.
If you have to load and reload, here is the solution. Remove cartridge two from the magazine, top off the mag with cartridge one, the one that was in the chamber, and charge the weapon. Then insert virgin cartridge two on top of the magazine again. (It's a virgin by virtue of the fact it has never been chambered.) But I could be wrong. I often am.

I went looking around for some magazines for my S&W 59XX and the Ruger P95, and couldn't find squat. So i decided to look into guns that have been around and will be around in 10\15 years. Sold the Ruger P95 that I inherited from my father that neither my wife or I could get into it. And went looking at Glocks. Was pretty much set on a G19. Then I seen the Ruger SR1911. Originally I was going to stay in the 9mm family with 13+rnd mags, but with the 15+1 S&W we have that covered. Re-thought our strategy if the SHTF scenario does happen. Our main weapons will be the wife and her Ruger Mini-14, my Ruger SR762 and Colt Le6920. She liked shooting the S&W, so I thought that since the 1911 will be around forever, I get me one to take care of the 1911 GunAS(Gun Acquisition Syndrome). The co-worker that I sold the P95 to wanted to have his wife shoot it before buying it to make sure that she could handle it. We set up some railroad ties and starting plinking to about 50ft. They loved it and it was my turn. There was a knot that we were using as the bullseye. My first shot with Hornady Critical Duty +P landed deadon with the knot. Now I have to load up on .45 again and go on some 1911 mag hunts. Atleast the mags wll be around for some time. Not worried about the S&W, I have a stash of 50 15 rounders. Any way since the novel is over, here it is

I posted this picture before but could not get the gif to work.
This should have the flashlight and laser flashing off and on.
Only the second gif I've done. The tripod moved slightly
and I didn't get the action just the way I wanted, but it'll do for now.

Went by my favorite local gun shop today, to check things out. They were offering 12 months interest free financing, so I had to find something to get. After all it's free money. Well I ended up with these 2:
This thing feels great, I can't wait to get to the range with it.
Then I saw this beauty. Henry Big Boy "Oilman Tribute" I had to have it, since I've been working in the oilfield for about 15 years now. 44mag with octagonal barrel
