Broke a couple upper shock bolts, not sure what to do now 😞

Any advise would be welcome.
You can take a dremel cut off wheel and cut one of the welds on the "nut" in the frame. If you have a compressor and an air hammer, you can pound it out with that. If not, use a hammer and a punch or something that fits.

It's not fun. I broke all four of mine about a month ago. buy plenty of cut off wheels. When you're done, just use some 1/4 20's with flat washers and lock nut. I had to "customize" a wrench so I could get a hold of the locknuts.

Speedo Gear swap

My new to me TJ was going faster than indicated according to my GPS. I read up on WF about cause and fix right here on WF. I ordered a new correct 31 tooth gear and fresh O-ring from Quadratec for $38 and had it the next day ground.

Found the ratio while searching for reasons for incorrect speedometer readings. Figure it had to do with 33" tires PO put on. Took about 12 minutes as I had to get up off the ground twice to get a pick tool to pull the oring off and a can of brake clean to clean up the little bit of fluid that came out when I pulled the stock gear out of the TC. Now the MPH is spot on. My fuel mileage will be accurate now and service interval will be correct. Don't hesitate to do this simple mod. 1/4 drive ratchet, 1/2" socket, brake clean, new o-ring, rubber gloves, pick tool to get o-ring off.

Changing Your Jeep Speedometer Gear

LOVE MY TJ!

Jeffk1975 I rotated tires.

Took the rear shaft off the tail of the transfer case to check the torque on the yoke nut and while manipulating the front DC joint noticed that it has a bit of a notchy spot in it. Since its a relatively new shaft I'm going to call the shop I bought it from and see if they'll replace it. Since I think that's what's causing my 65mph vibration.

Ya, I figured, if they're gunna pull it apart, might as well knock a bunch of stuff out then. Prolly upgrade axle shafts as well. But this kit should be sufficient for the guts, right? I am gunna have a shop do it. Small town, so gotta find a shop that knows what their doing.

When I added it to my Amazon wish list a couple weeks ago, it was $237.79. Now it's $145.94 (38% drop in price). No reviews listed. Just wondering if anyone else made this purchase and had any input before I purchase. I'm not an axle guy so I don't want to order the wrong stuff and not realize it till I take it to the shop. Btw, it's an 03 Rubi.

Nice. I need to order the amp and amp cable kit to finish that install. Did you reinstall in the bottom of the center console or pick a new spot?

Nope. Did not have to notch anything. It is a direct bolt on. I bought a 98 Durango steering gear box. The hardest parts were getting the pitman arm off, getting to the lines to disconnect, and then holding up the box to reconnect the shaft back on to the box. A friend to hold that gear box up is helpful!!!

Here is a link to my build thread and it has some pics and a little bit of description of the mod.

97WranglerOhio 1,200 or 12,000? Either way I like the army green paint.

Maestro Today I unbolted the seats and center console, cleaned everything, and sprayed dupi-color bed armor on the whole thing (about 4 cans, $12 each). Looks great.

Yesterday I fabbed my winch plate and welded it to my bumper and installed my new 1200 lb winch, I have the same bumper as the guy with those kc lights and winch from CL (awesome sounding deal btw).

Over the weekend, I painted my jeep from forest green to army green. Refreshing change.

Also my friend gave me this sweet grenade shifter knob, it's real. I love it.

I broke mine a few weeks ago If u have access to a lift use it to prop the tub up. Disconnect all the bodymounts and the fa shroud. U can then lift the body up this six inches. Then get in there and chisel the old nut off and weld new one on. It took me maybe 5hrs I didn't break any other bolts though. Any other questions on it let me know

No chunks. Yep, that's the plan, partially because the store was out of the RP Synchromax I wanted so i wound up with Pennzoil. Thanks...
