Don't forget though, full case lockers most likely need to be installed by professionals as your backlash needs to be checked and possibly re-done. If you are spending the money to go with a full case locker, it's not a bad idea to do a regear at the same time.

Personally if you are lucky enough to have the D44, I would get a rear locker, and regear for those 33" tires (F&R), and throw a lunchbox up front unless you cant swing the front locker at that time.

If you only have the D35, I would try getting a lunchbox for the front and leave the rear alone for the time being. See how much the front locker helps, and if you find it necessary to lock the rear as well.

MarkNog Knowing your axles in the jeep word is essential. I would take a look under there asap.

I'm running lock right lunchbox lockers front and rear Dana 30/35 combo with USA alloy 4140 axles on 33's. Its awesome on road and off and i have had no problems.

Cons_Table Well depending on what kind of driver you are, most people will suggest not to lock the D35 with 33 inch tires without doing some additional reinforcing (such as stronger axle shafts). If you have the D44, throw a locker in there and no worries. You can tell what rear axle you have by looking at the differential and seeing if the drain plug is plastic/rubber, or if it is a metal plug. If it is plastic you have the D35...if it is metal you have the D44. All jeeps (unless they are a rubicon or have had work done on them) will have a D30 front axle.

For 1000 dollars, and both axles...the only way you will really be able to go will be a Detroit locker in the rear and a lunchbox in the front. You could put a lunchbox in the rear but it wont be as strong and is typically not as well behaved on the road. A lunchbox up front is perfect. The only thing to consider is if you live in a climate that frequently sees snow, automatic lockers and lunchbox lockers can cause some ill side effects that need to be considered (ie. understeer).

Also, where do you live and what is your budget like? These are all a few things that can affect your locker selection.
