California is very anal about this stuff

yeller03tj Does yours have 2 cats?

My 04 2.4 only has 1.
If yours has 1 just get one for the 97. "Should" be the same. Lol

LouieDelTorchio Any specific one recommended? Im just cautious about it.

yeller03tj Just get yourself a aftermarket 50 state legal one. Make sure it comes with a c.a.r.b. number plate and sticker. Then your good to go.

Catalytic Converter Replacement Options

Alright so I believe that my cat conv is going out due to a rattling sound comging from the inside. This has been going on for a while, I have been procrastinating the situation. So my question is what is my best option in your opinion? I know that aftermarket cat converters wont pass visual smog. I dont see myself paying a vast amount to a dealership because I'm a college student and I dont have much to spend. Should I try to go to a jeep wrecking yard? They seem like theyd charge a lot for them though. I checked to see if Napa could do anything but he basically said I need to go to a dealership to get one. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Also I live near Sacramento if that helps.
