It doesn't matter when you push the button, they will only unlock when they are not in a bind.

yea, what he said.

If you don't push on the upper half of the button to turn them off the light will flash at you until you turn the Jeep off, but if you go above 18MPH (I think) they will automatically disengage.

WatchThis! Push the button down while in 4l once for the rear locker, push it down again to lock the front and rear. If you hit it again it will unlock the front and leave the rear locked. Push it up to unlock both lockers. You can do it while moving or siting still. You can also do it while one tire is spinning but it is not a good idea at all.

How should I be engaging and disengaging stock rubi electric lockers? 2013 JKUR

in park? neutral? drive? button up? button down? what order?

It seems to take 5 to 10 minutes to disengage them. The dash light flashes at me like I did something wrong. I get impatient, and try another gear or push another button. . .

What is the quickest/proper procedure for getting them locked/unlock?
