Thanks! This was the weekend to get it done. My wife's family is coming in for the holidays and she also wanted it completed before they got here.
What kind of setup are you running?

I have to move the projector back some more to fill the screen, but this was enough to get the receiver/speakers configured and the new Bluray player set up.

We also had the chance to sit down to some Transformers....at only about 2/3 the screen size.

That looks great man! We just ordered some black out curtains.

We watched the new Transformers tonight just to test it out. The surround setup is amazing. Completely pleased with that.

I am looking forward to being able to trailer the Jeep. I really top out around 65mph and that is WOT. Besides that, we will have plenty of camping gear that won't fit well in the Jeep, and of course there is always the breakage factor.

TXST8tj While mapping out my ARB air compressor install, I realized I have completely neglected installing the Spectre cowl intake setup.
The kit is designed for use with a 4.0l, but I am going to make it work with my 2.5l.
Just need to cut the 3" hole earlier in the evening when I won't wake up the kids/neighborhood.

TwoWheeledMadMan I dunno, I'm hoping the wind will stop by Dec. Where the hell is our warm front? I was planning on dropping a new heater core in our TJ over Thanksgiving break. Ef dis weather! Shouldn't be like this till February!

TXST8tj Sweet!
I have a heater in the Jeep, just not sure the rear window of the Trektop is going to fit with the rear rollbar spreader bar.
As long as it's not windy (which it probably will be), we will leave the top and doors with the truck and just bundle up.

I don't expect to get much installed between now and then, but I at least want to get the ARB compressor/locker wired up before I go.
I have the drive to get stuff done, just need the time.

That sounds pretty cold to a guy with a heaterless Jeep haha. I'll be in College Station but I've already asked off for my share of days in December for graduation, some dinner banquet with the girlfriend, and going home to spend Christmas with her family. Although I should have my Hi Line and UCF stuff done and will need a test run...

BusinessRogue I like the color of that a lot.

TXST8tj Worked on a Jeep this weekend....just not my own. Haha.
I did the AEV lift, front and rear bumpers, and Warn winch on this about two years ago. Another owner later and it was back for an outfit of LED lights.

This is my favorite JKU. I am happy to work on it anytime.

I tried digging through the entire thread to see what all you modified on your TJ. A while back someone asked if you could post pics of the wiring of the lighting. I'd also be interested if you wouldn't mind sharing that detail. I'm looking to wire up two sets of lights, fogs on the stinger bumper and windshield mounted driving lights. I've got an idea how I want to handle the fog light wiring. Not convinced how I want to run the windshield light wiring.
I have not seen the trailer yet. I will definitely see it though. What can I say, I am a sucker for bad acting and fast car movies.

I will try to snap some pics. The underhood wiring will be changing as I have a cleaner setup in the works; i.e., parts in hand, just need to do it.

TXST8tj I don't think I've ever seen that one.

I am a big fan of car movies, and I actually really enjoyed Need for Speed. I just ordered it on BluRay. I am excited to watch that one.

The Mrs. was concerned with the size of the screen when she saw the box (thinking it was too big), but was is quite happy with it seeing it assembled.

There is one element of this that I left for the end to figure out, and that is the projector mount. I am currently on a search for a reasonably priced, quality mount.

erickpl Even though I think it is a lame movie, Speed Racer has vibrant colors and lots of action. I'd imagine the surround sound would get a great workout too...

It's getting close! I assembled the screen last night. Hanging it this evening and maybe installing the front speakers. I am currently on the hunt for a shelf for the center channel to place under the screen. I think I might have found what I'm looking for at Ikea of all places.

I always use the bombing scene of Pearl Harbor to test surround. It has a great range of sounds...from booms/explosions, engines, machine guns, yelling, etc.

Aside from that, I will play the new Transformers movie (will also use that to test out the 3D), for general graphics and audio.

I will probably also play the new Pixar Planes movie just to wow everyone with the colors.

All of the surround and rear surround speakers are installed and wired up. I unboxed the receiver to test them and identify the wires (just a jumble of them behind the wall plate).
Just testing each pair in stereo mode with no tuning, I was pretty well blown away.

The issue comes from the HDMI board overheating. If you use it regularly and have not had any issues as of yet, you may be just fine. Apparently this is isolated to 2013-2014 model years.

Replacement cost is pretty much the same between the two...$100-$300 depending if you go OEM or aftermarket.
Some people say the Epson's bulbs don't last as long in real life, but on paper, they are rated the same hours.
Epson is currently offering a free bulb with theirs as a promotion, but the Sony still wins with their $500 price break.
