tango3065 Got the lighter bracket in the mail today and for anyone looking into a clean way to mount you GPS i highly recommend it. Also I hardwired my under the dash 3 way outlet for my radar detector using the no cut wire taps into the cigarette lighter wires and it works great.

The "radar detector" part made me chuckle a little bit! Usually the only time I see a Jeep pulled over is when the Cops are giving an inspection ticket for tires sticking out too far, or someone riding with their doors off!

tango3065 Gonna redo it because it don't look clean enough for me so I ordered this today - GN097-USB : Powered Lighter Socket Mount for Garmin Nuvi - Socket / Cup Holder Mount

Does anyone know the best place to splice into to get power for my hidden that I have behind the dash so that I can get power to my radar detector?

tango3065 With GPS you should get just as good as signal down there as you would in the dash or window, it picks up all 32 satellites and shows accuracy within 6 ft on actual point by point location and all roads so far when traveling have been a perfect image compared with a map. If you are using one one the handheld ones with the external antenna they might need to be up high, I'm not sure on them.

GPS installed in my new JK

Installed a Garmin nuvi tonight and decided to put it down low because my radar detector is in the window and I really wont need the GPS much and when I do it gives me turn by turn directions. I routed all wires under the dash for the detector and the GPS and installed a 3 in 1 auxiliary power outlet right under the stock infinity amplifier with 3m tape inside the lower dash panel. I modified the sticky ring so that it would fit in the opening in the console in front of the gear shift and I'm happy with the appearance.

BTW I changed to on screen vehicle to a jeep and customized the start up screen.
