mcpheron24 Ok so i just rebuilt both axles and it wasnt that hard, the rear was easier than the front ! I should have used a case spreader but couldnt find one. Its all is good tho, back lash is good and teeth marks are good on both axles!

steelerwheeler Ya. Pita. Shims to center and to get pinion gear lash set right. Hafta press bearings and all that.

mcpheron24 Thats what i figured does it have all the shims to center the diff with the pinion.

steelerwheeler Ya. Its pretty technical. I did it before and is a pain. I take mine to a shop now.

mcpheron24 Anyone know how much of a pain it is to change out the dif? Im a chevy guy and always take in the 14 bolt the shims are to agrivating

steelerwheeler Look at the diff cover. If its more round on the sides, its a d35. If the sides are more squared off, its a d44

Rear diff

Blew out the gears in my rear dif today. How do i find out what rear end i have?
