jadmt man that is a lot of carnage on some expensive machinary. I think that is cool to see but not something I could do.

bullcrew I did not get pics of all the rides or damage this is just some quick shots I got I couldn't find the bronco or a few others.

In the background of pic 2 is the red toyota (trail leader brian)

Lol yeah it was nasty, off camber a lot of putting tires on walls to straddle notches and then doing corners and up rock walls. Mid/upper 13 has big rocks and is super steep so all of this trail is nasty....but a really good run.

What saved some of the others from body damage was tube fenders and steel corner guards...they crashed the crap out of them duff managed to bend up his metal fender.

I'll post pics and video as soon as chris puts up some or emails over some, we should have some of the crawlers and buggies hopefully.

Loading a few more.

This is upper 13 where the trail used to start then its a series of nasty rock gardens and small waterfalls to climb, this part alone is pretty hefty. The white jku in front of me pulled off at the top section then joined in for upper 13. He avoided the lower trail.

Pic 2 red toyota in background d is brian trail leader. Sas 4runner beat to hell and a lot of it was from building trail 13

bullcrew I'm definently in on the tour of them....thanks and yeah I will take you up on that.

Keep hearing mattino is supposed to be a fun run so its on the list the big bear stuff is fun with the kids when we go camping there and they dig it for family outings but I prefer stuff that's more aggressive and challenging when its me and the boys....

bullcrew Jerry/woknrox let me know if you want to do this trail i have the GPS track from it. Pm me and I can email the file over.

bullcrew Jerry was that the white xterra? We saw one in line on the left side of the knock on wood line it was lifted and looked ok but we questioned the build....not knocking it but because you have lockers doesn't mean you have a trail worthy rig, you just break further in.

We had a yahoo in a nearly new Nissan Xterra that insisted on doing Wishbone with us and he ended up having to be dragged out by the recovery team. He first knocked his front axle out of commission with either a busted pinion shaft or busted ring & pinion gear. Then as we were trying to winch him to a point where the recovery crew could get to him, he snapped the shock strut inside his front driver's side suspension which also let the coil spring fall out. He had f/r lockers but beyond the lockers, his Xterra was clearly not prepared for that level of trail. We tried to talk him out of it by telling him to expect breakage but he wouldn't listen.

The only notable thing that happened to my rig, other than a few new scraches here & there, was a big sharp rock pushed my aux transmission cooler up enough that it pushed into the t-case & cracked a fitting. It was only a minor drip as of Sunday morning in camp but it let go about 10 miles down the highway on the way home & it was soon billowing great clouds of white smoke as the ATF hit the muffler. I had to stop & bypass the aux tranny cooler entirely & add more ATF to get home. Luckily the CHP officer that stopped to check on me was cool & just laughed when I started laughing about the pointy rock that did the tranny cooler in.
Glad to hear that it wasn't worse...lol
Yeah we asked bill which one to do between the 4 nasty runs he mentioned knock on wood had a section that was optional but would bring the pain to the rigs....so we signed up immediately.

What a good group of guys there, my son is the one who drew the first raffle ticket...

I put the hartop on last night the track is straight and useable, I'll post pics of it this morning at work.
I'm bringing a BFH and a flat metal piece to put inside and beat against to drive it out slowly and evenly...its in a good 2"+ under the top...the rail is chewed up but that rock ended there on that hit. The one after would have taken the top out completely. I'll post a pic of the rips on the top/side of duffs soft top....the canyons were nasty and grabbing everything coming by. The trail alone is nastier then hell without the added walls...

The again I might be too lazy and keep my tramp stamp.....

This would be a great pre-mod run. Right before you buy corner armor, tube fenders, aluminum half doors and a custom paint job.

My 5yr old in the first pic had a blast, was startled the first hit on the side....in a concerned tone he said "dad, that sounds a little bigger than a scuff" lol

After that he laughed and had a good time...

Chris had a go pro going on front of his rig he was right in front of me his kid had another in his hands hanging out the back videoing me lol...his wife was snapping pics so I know we should have some good footage.
We have one that shows some under carriage on a turn up and around the canyon walls...duff was behind me and I knew I was way up there from the teetering of the front off the ground then coming back down...had no idea till I looked in the rear view and all I saw was his under carriage when he went through the section...
