lynskynbnd Chassis Saver in the tub. It will get covered with Monstaliner as will the whole body. Both Chassis Saver and Monstaliner are made by Magnet Paints.

Cowboy17 and when you are putting everything back together, swap out any torx with stainless hex bolts, and lots of never sieze on the bolts to ensure ease of extraction at a later time.
Count on 2 full days to disassemble and prep. 3 hours to spray if you use raptor liner.

Cowboy17 Raptor liner hands down. I love the stuff. But do your research and whatever product you decide on there is only one thing that you need to know.

Prep. Prep. Prep. and then when you are ready to spray or roll on the liner, Prep some more.

Sand it, clean it, toothbrush in the corners, sand again, shop vac it, wipe with acetone, check that every nook and cranny has been scuffed. I just bought a TJ for parting out and whatever liner they used on it peels right off with a fingernail. Clearly they use POR-15 or something like it but didnt sand it.

Use earplugs to plug the holes, use q-tips to plug the smaller holes. Remove everthing including the roll bars, you will be happy you did.

Consider carrying the liner over the top lip of the tup where the soft top rails would sit. Consider carrying the liner up and over the bottom of the door jambs as this being the entrance and exit to the jeep gets a lot of abuse. Spray the inside of the tailgate.

Take the opportunity to grind down any rust that you might find. Get it to bear metal then prime it or rust reformer, then sand it, maybe a second coat of primer and sand it again.

Did I mention Raptor liner? (My four year old helped me spray it in, it's that easy to work with). I should mention that I had a bottle leak in shipping to me and I called them and they replaced it no questions asked, with free shipping.

Raptor liner is also tintable.

Have fun and did I mention that it is all in the prep?

Gunz n tractorz I have an idea and would like feedback on weather or not it will work. Ok so I am going to bed line my interior in the summer and haven't decided on a brand yet but thinking monstaliner. Now my idea if any of you know about appoxying concrete there are metallic chips that can be added to it to make it sparkle a bit, so I was thinking of adding these into the bedliner some how and ll I can come up with is to bedline it and then sprinkle some metallic chips on the floor then spray some clear coat over that to get the chips to stay. The clear coat will also make it easier to clean. Is this a good idea or a far fetched idea? Are there any other ways to do this? All feedback welcome.

OverkillYJ I am pretty sure they are the same damn thing. As long as you get bedliner that has the catalyst separate and then the tint you should be fine. The stuff that comes pre-mixed or in a can is not the same. The good stuff, just like auto paint will harden from a chemical reaction. That is different than air drying. As long as you dont cheap out you should be ok. Rolling or spraying is also personal preference. I have a large 85 gallong air tank and gun I could have used, but rolled it on because it gave me a rougher texture which is what I was looking for.

thats not true,u can tint Raptor any factory color u want .theres alot of shades of white. I like the fact u can get the exact color mixed up add it to the liner and get a perfect match.
not puting down the other liners out there . we sell most all the ones made .Raptor is just the number 1 seller

spease Thanks for posting info on Monstaliner. I have looked at several of the roll-ons to do the interior of my '94. It is white, I live in Texas, YJ has no A/C. I didn't want to paint interior an dark shades. Monstaliner is the only one I have seen where I can get white tint.

I can testify that as far as durability, this stuff has held up great. I got pics with branches hangin from my door hinges and crazy crap. I even washed grease off the hood with brake cleaner a few times and it didnt hurt it at all. I drive through trails that look like they have not been driven down in years. If I am offroad it is getting pounded and abused more than most Jeeps. When I wash it is looks like the day I did it. I cant even imagine how horrible it would look if I used auto paint on it. The inside I throw shackles on the floor and tools without thinking twice, but that isnt abuse compared to what I do to the outside. I painted it in July and offroad at least 20 hours per month. This pic is from when I washed it two weeks ago. Next I am monstalining the hardtop inside and out. If you look you can actually see all the marks where branches hit the hardtop all the time right above the windshield.

crtaylor Als liner in the tub, Raptor on the bottom, we do sell more raptor than any other liner in the co. and thats only 22 stores. Iknow the pic of the bottom of the tub looks greenish,due to the wrong setting on the camera.

I did tint the Als liner which is also awsome 35 mills thickness add a flatener for the flat look rubber crumb for added grip.and has the uv protection. heres a photo of the Als in this 95 resto im doing. tinted with spice DBC basecoat .and the bottom of tub has the black Raptor .this should last forever

crtaylor I work for a autobody jobber. we sell Als ,Raptor, Herculiner ,Monsterliner. I pesonal like the spray in the best .But not everyone has a compressor. the best thing about the Raptor is it can be tinted to be an exact match to the exterior with 4oz of basecoat added to Each liter of liner.(uv protection)
I did tint the Als liner which is also awsome 35 mills thickness add a flatener for the flat look rubber crumb for added grip.and has the uv protection. heres a photo of the Als in this 95 resto im doing. tinted with spice DBC basecoat .and the bottom of tub has the black Raptor .this should last forever

Yeah it is a lot of work. More than I expected. I read about a guy having a branch rip a patch off his door bigger than a basketball because he didnt prep enough. I made sure I got it down real good with scotch pads. Seam sealed and primed all welds then sanded, Just like I was going to paint it with paint.

Cuesoccer24 I used herculiner which is basically rhino liner just cheaper...I used 1 full gallon to put 2 coats on the bed liner of my 95 wrangler and it turned out great...very durable stuff. I did have to weld a couple pieces of metal underneath the steering wheel and a patch for the drivers seat but other than that, I just sanded the hell out of the bed and rolled on the herculiner...cost me $90 at autozone I think.

bajonesy77 With the gun you can just adjust the psi and the distance your spraying to get different textures. The bottom line is it has to last no matter the texture.

OverkillYJ Yeah a shutz gun will spray texture, and I have a 80 gallon compressor and everything needed, but there are a lot more rollers to choose from to get it perfect. Rollers defenitly give you more control over texture.

bajonesy77 I put raptor liner in mine 3 years ago. Has held up and other than being dirty looks the same. Plus its a 2 part product not just a paint and the kit comes with the spray nozzle and you mix and spray from the bottle so its mess free.

Desert Scorpion Spray in bed liner can get the same texture as a roll in. there are tons of different nozzle options and adjustments to get the texture you want. If anything spray in offers more textures. i went with a little bit of a thicker chunkier spray so that it doesn't get slippery when there is a lot of snow and ice that i track inside.

OverkillYJ I use a bucket of water and a scrub brush, then shop vac out the wet mud left over and wipe it with a wet towel. Looks brand new afterwards. The cheaper stuff is a pain in the ass because it doesnt harden up right and stuff sticks to it more.

richsipe I keep tossing this idea around. My Sammy had the interior some kind of lined (was like that when I bought it) and I didn't like it BECAUSE it was impossible to clean. After going to the dunes or in the mud I could never get it clean again. Hard to vacuum out the sand and the dirt kind of stained. Even with the hose on it - Sammy after all - and a brush I was still never happy.

I have heard that Monstaliner has a harder texture which sounds to be to be cleanable and from the research I have done - good feedback. Anybody agree / disagree?

OverkillYJ Spray in will not compare to good roll on liner. The texture you get with roll on is very nice and you can also lay some pretty thick coats. Plus Monstaliner for example is 3 parts which react with each other to harden and create a good coat. My buddy sprayed while I did Monstaliner and he is pretty jealous. As far as the quality of Monstaliner, stuff is extremely tough and has held up awesome. The things you need to realize about inside though is that it will be hotter on the floor from the exhaust and transmission, and the noise will be louder. The passenger side is hotter than the driver side because the exhaust is on that side. You will learn quick though that Carpeting is actually a lot more sound dampening and a comfort thing than you might think. I agree with the floor mats though. That not only keeps the heat out but the sound down a bit.

For welded floor pans and things, you use seam sealer on everything as well as primer. Seam sealer will cost you $30 for a tube, but it seals the seams and has some give to it. That stops it from cracking under the liner and screwing it up. It is made by 3M and the only place I could find that sold it was NAPA. No one else even knew what it was. Fortunately for me my father in law helped who did body work for 20+ years and showed me the proper ways to do it right.

I love it.
