As for the Buttes, its been on my short list far too long and I plan to check it out in Feb...

Like you I have read some stories about the Tera low giving out, just not sure how they were being used...
I don't know as much about transfers cases as I do about other Jeep stuff/mods, but from what I've heard, the TeraLows were a problem for DD Jeeps..and there was other little things that went wrong with them. Nonetheless, it was enough to steer me away from them. Besides, I really only like to put the best or closest thing to it that I can afford, on my Jeep. She needs to last a while and when I wheel her, I wheel pretty hard. Don't really do a lot of fireroad type stuff. It's always the rocks. (not that I'm opposed to scenic stuff

And over the years, I have seen the intensity progression when I wheel. I've always said I will never do the hammers in this Jeep. I can't afford to break it..and then I think..well,maybe I can just go check out some of it Self Control in wheeling my jeep= not so great.

My jeep is a 5 speed manual, 2,5L, 4.56 gearing. 33x12.50 MTR's, lifted 3" with a 1" BL, ARBs F/R and all the rest of the Currie etc goodies...I thought with that set up, 4.1 would be what I'd need. I don't want to get more than I need. But like I said, I really don't know much about it...and is why I contacted Stan I have an awesome mechanic here..but he is VERY expensive (and worth it) but I try to go to him only when I need to. I am willing to drive 2.5 hours to get to Stan's shop!

I don't THINK the 5:1 would cost you anymore than the 4.3:1...and I am sure every little bit would help that 4 banger.

11:1 (I think) for the 4 speed might be a little overkill for a DD lol...but who knows

I H8RDS And I choose Atlas b/c it's the best.. have heard too many negative things about TeraLo
