this is true. the dow is down now further than they ever thought it would again, way lower than it ever was with bush, even right after 911 .

gm is now the lowest its been in 74 years.

and i'll repeat myself here. i feel my wife's employer waited as long as he could, and waited to see what was gonna happen, and see's no real hope, or positive future improvement in his business.

i'm looking at spending $900/month w/ blue cross privately, about the same as her employer after this change, but employer's covereage dropped to hardly anything. cost through employer doubled, and coverage reduced by half, makes sense

:agree:

I was making decent $ up until I got laid off and yet still there were peeps I know making the same $ and had a LINK card or whatever thay call it these days.

This amazes me.

afrats I am waiting for this "Change" to happen. Anyone else notice how the stock market is tanking, even after Obama has done all his stuff. Seems the investors aren't impressed with Obama and his stimulus package. Sorry to hear about the health insurance thing jpdocdave. I sure am glad I am in the military right now and I can't be laid off. I really need the insurance right now.

thats right, there's a couple big companies in chicago now that said, we're not laing anyone off, but if you stay, your salary is cut by 50%
02-19-2009 11:08 PM
jupiterboy I think if we can just cut this silly middle layer out of healthcare insurance. The industry has a perfect shell game where the health insurance provider has another company package and bill for the services. The billing company repeatedly bills incorrectly to the point things go toward collection and the end user pays the cost the insurance company should have payed. Works really well with the elderly. HealthSouth got busted for it but got off in court. The best part is that the insurance company isn't liable. They just run a system of rotating billing service companies.
