Kthulhu I did the ol' shorty antenna from Antenna X today. Quick, cheap, and it looks a lot better than the stock antenna. Reception is fine so far.

This or you can buy the pry bars that the muffler guys use at harbor freight. You just have to wiggle and jiggle the hell out of it. You can also try using bearing grease.

Nice looking ride!
Thank you, it probably wouldn't hold up very well. The black is powder coated. Either way they both don't hold up against rocks.

I can tell you that the screwdriver do not work. I was so pissed with the rubber mounts that I had to use a hacksaw to cut off the muffler. So after that I put more wd40 and used pliers. I found if I squeezed the pliers on the end of the bong and the back of the rubber they were a lot easier to remove. try that first.

I ordered the military tail light kit from Quadratec, not cheap, but no LEDs are. They come black with Grote lights. The advantage of the kit is it comes with the plug and play wiring and the resistors to make the LEDs work correctly. If you just wanted the black unit, it's about a 10 minute job. I wanted tan, so I stripped the housing, painted and clear coated it, ordered tan Truck Lite lights and then did the new install. These lights have all the wires numbered, so it is easy to match the numbers from the original wires I cut to the new ones (the Grote and Truck Lite use the same numbering on the wires for military use). Turned out to be pretty easy. If you want to get crazy, you can flush mount the lights without the housing, but that is a whole monster project... There are also blackout IR LEDs on these you could wire if you want to run dark, but have NODs on (only way to see the IR lights).

I actually still have the new black Grote lights since I swapped in the tan lights if somebody wants those. They would be cool on a matching trailer or maybe flush mounted on the bumper.

Mine bends so much that one day I thought it was gone. No loss in reception that I've noticed.

JeepMcMo Got some new Nemesis step rockers, AEV rear corner guards...changed my decals to black. I posted plenty of pics in the photobucket. It turned out better than I expected. I'll be taking her out on the trail this weekend...look forward to giving some reviews on the Nemesis Step Rockers over a longer period of time than just a few hours.

I've put mine on and taken it off a few times. Love the look, but reception is terrible. I live between DC and Baltimore, and can barely get reception from stations in either city.

I got the 13" flexible off road one, had it for 2 months now. Lost about 20% in range for reception; ie say a station I would get that was 100 miles away, well now I need to be 80 miles away for the same reception, as an example....

I ordered the 14" SS black powder coated one earlier this week. I was ok with the 13" flexible one, but on our jeep 3-day trip, found driving @ 70 MPH with 95*+ it curved the antenna straight back at an even arch, lol. Over night it straighten right back....
