No worries. Since you have a '13 you're under warranty. If the noise goes away when you press the clutch, you can count on going in for a new throwout bearing. The throwout bearing has been a thorn in the wrangler's side for a while now. take it in to the dealer and make sure they treat you right.

As for the change into 2nd, it's quite difficult in this transmission. A lot of people, including me, get a "crunch" when you go for 2nd gear. you can get around this by shifting from 1 to 2 at around 2500-3000 RPM. Another way to help it is if you pull it out of 1st, then press it against 2nd gear for half a second (but don't slip it in) and then go all the way. Kinda a 2 step motion.

good luck!

Blastek If it's not a belt, I can think of two things:

- There is a known defect with the water pumps that can cause a squealing/chirping noise (more on the chirping side) . They're on national backorder, it's a simple fix.

- If you have a manual transmission, the throw out bearing in the transmission may be faulty. If the noise goes away when you push the clutch (if you even have a manual), you know this is the issue.

Day Dreamer If the dealership is close to you I don't see any harm in having them take a look see. When you say squealing, belts come to mind as well. Sorry wish I knew more. Squeaking is a pretty vague noise

Anyone have any idea why I would've heard that
The jeep was idling for about 15 mins
Belts were dry, dry area.
And irraciticly the belts or something started
Squealing

Should I complain to the dealer as its still fairly brand new
