JEEPDON No, his axles are stock width, but he has crazy low backspacing to set his wheels out enough so he doesn't rub. So no, it is not an optical illusion, His wheels are set wide. That is why I say he is going to be hard on wheel and unit bearings. Probably going to be replacing ball joints very soon also.

You are the one that started the build thread a while back when they were building this, huh? I remember now...the coilovers rung a bell. I just thought he was running different axles, because something about that pic from the front end made him look wider. Must just be an optical illusion though.

HA! Jeff's got jokes
No, He has TJ D44 Rubi axle with a bridge and a 3 link, with a trackbar, and some fancy steering stuff; also has triangulated 4 link in the rear. They managed to get King coilovers on all 4 corners on "stock" TJ axles without going thru the tub. I think it is going to be hard on wheel bearings and unit bearings; but that is just my opinion I guess. The thing will flex like crazy!! Setting on Toyo 37- 13.50-17's. Is your LJ buddy running JK axles? Tons? How about suspension? That front axle looks like its got a truss on it
