Get a 1 to 1 1/2 inch body lift. It gives you extra clearance to work on the vehicle. With 1 1/2" you can get between the frame and the body.
If you get a 1" motor lift with a 1" body lift the fan and shroud should be okay. I didn't want to do the lift and afterwards it's one of the best mods I've done for work room clearance. I also have the UCF Ultra High skid and the Lo Pro mount. The mount makes the skid installation easier. There is some motor vib, but NOT excessive. The front of the skid has to be modified for auto trans clearance if you use the Lo Pro mount.

I will be installing a sye/driveshaft in a few months and figured I might as well tuck at the same time.
on the UCF website, it says
"These UCF Transfer Case Skids are 1" deep. They require the installation of a 1" body lift for '97-'02 models. '03-'06 models require 2" of body lift or 1" body lift with tub clearancing."
while only 1" with the 'extra clearance' skid for 03-06
I have a 2004 wrangler, if I get the UCF lo pro mount, will i really still need another inch of body lift for the ultra high? or will it fit with just the lo pro mount?
I would like to avoid the body lift so if that's the case, I would just go with the extra clearance skid.
also, probably a dumb question, but will this require the novak cable shifter?

|homebrwd||I'm running this with the Ultra High clearance skid, engine vibes are minimal between this and a motor mount lift from brown dog, I get a little more vibe but not much.|

|TJe0454||I actually should be receiving my lopro today. Since this thread, I've done a ton to my jeep, including long arms, sye, and an 8.8. So I'm doing this because of a tummy tuck, not for a transfer case drop elimination. I got a flat skid from Barnes 4wd.|

|TJspeed||Im glad to hear all of that. I bought one last night. I will be adding this with my 1.25" body lift, 1" motor lift. Im piecing a lift together "slowly". And I will be getting the UCF high clearance skid. I was a little worried about the vibs but after reading it was very very little I wasnt worried about it and I figured if it was an issue UCF would have dont something about to by now. I have one as well.... the added 'vibes' are minimal and well worth the gains this mount provides.
Sometimes a little 'massaging' may be in order for the install.. I had to elongate my trans bracket mounting holes to have the LoPro clear the X brace of the my high clearance skid. No biggie... took about 15 minutes and a carbide tip on a die grinder.

If you're even considering this, then you probably recognize the benefits and won't give a care about a slight increase in felt engine vibrations at idle. A nice byproduct of the mount is a much stiffer connection that deflects less. Less drivetrain movement is a good thing, especially when you combine this with new motor mounts. I used this mount for a couple years with my flat skid and am part of the reason the mount even exists. It works as it should and allows you to be as efficient as possible. Here's what I mean by that:
Before building my flat skid, I ran a Rokmen skid plate with the stock trans mount. The flat plate surface terminated 2.25" from the bottom of the frame rail. When I replaced it with my custom skid and LoPro mount, my t-case output only raised 3/4" while my belly clearance increased by 2" (1/4" flat skid). I gained 1" due to the mount and I gained the other 1/4" by making the trans mount surface on the skid as low as possible. I could have ran that flat skid with no body lift but didn't due to other reasons.
There are no rules to the tucking game. You don't need this, this and that. If you want to run a flat skid with no body lift, go for it. You'll either have to cut out some tub or get creative. I chose the creative part and that ended up being enough.

Well I have had mine lying around for two weeks but have not gotten round to installing it yet. What I can say is that is originally came with a poly mount but this seemed to cause too many vibes and the standard mount is now rubber instead of poly. I am about to install it this weekend.
It is really beefy and seems extremely well designed. I have some proper photos of it for those interested.

I have one of these installed. The stock transmission mount (about a couple inches in height) gets deleted and is replaced by this mount, which is very thin. I recommend it if you need to lower the transmission and transfer case down into the skid plate some more. I did. It reduces the driveline angles quite a bit, and is very strong.
I can speak to the vibes. At idle, you'll detect a bit more "buzziness", like through the shift lever, and overall, like my radio unit has a slight buzzy rattle in the housing (I need to pull it and see if I can isolate). But it's very slight and not a worry. Once moving off and driving, it's completely undetectable, no different from stock when driving. This has been a very positive experience for me, used with my Rokmen TT high skid plate. I highly recommend this product. It performs as advertised, you won't go wrong here.

|solman||I was going to get it when I ordered my skid plate but I don't need any extra vibrations, It appears to be an almost solid mount. If the budget allows your best bet will be the SYE/CV shaft and adjustable rear uppers.|

|TexasT||It looks like they are taking the OEM tranny mount that uses the black bushing and two bolts that go through skid plate...and moving it to a round bushing on the side. Basically it eliminates the height of the mounting bushing. I can see how it works...would be curious how well it isolates vibes from the system. It drops the tranny 3/4" where a tcase lowering kit is usually double that. SYE kit is still the only true fix.|

Which still goes back to: my transmission sits on the skid plate, and you can't lower the transfercase without lowering the transmission. The whole input/output shafts have to line up, so I'm not really sure how this would work...
Unless I'm not remembering my transmission right, and there is some huge block sticking down from the bottom of it... I read the description. but it looks like you'd have to drill a hole for the mount. Other than that I'm not sure...

UCF LOPRO Transmission Mount questions
does anyone have experience with these?
apparently they move the tcase down onto the skid plate which removes the need for a tcase drop on a 3"+ susp lift, or to remove the need for a Body Lift with a TT.
