Duke79 I just installed my Xenon 1.5"wider flat fenders. If it were a just a wheeling Jeep I would go with some of the small fenders or chop the stockers, but I wanted extra coverage for the crap and slush on the roads. With my wheel tire setup I can't see out my windows on a snowy day from all the road crap.

nitroz680 anyone have any experience with Line-X or Rhino Liner? I'm thinking about spraying my factory sahara fenders with a white line-x to add some rigidity and protection...wayyy cheaper than the bushwacker pockets...

thoughts?

Duke79 I just ordered the Xenon 1.5" wider than stock flares. My problem most of the time is driving in slush and snowy roads and the Jeep gets covered in crap just on the street.

I was going to chop but that would be less coverage.

kgw350 I have a template I made. I use a air cut off wheel with the fenders on the jeep. With the cut off wheel its easier to get a nice strait line can go nice and slow then take a razor blade and clean up the edge then I use sandpaper it comes out very clean. My first fender cut was about 4 hours. Nothing against the metal flares they look great but the price I would do other mods for 1,000 bucks I really like the front meatalcloaks. Soon as I find a hood im going to build the EVO highline fender hood combo

GenRight Tube Fenders for Jeep JK

Had the tops powder coated to match the jeep. The bottom and edges are flat black. Very happy with their fit and finish.

kgw350 Cut the factory flares they will take more abuse then any aftermarket plastic fender. Save the $500 or more. I made a template for cutting the factory flares.
Here are some pictures of fenders I have done.

MOPWR2U I live in the mountains, and it seems like 2/3 of the year is spent wheeling on muddy sloppy roads. Just today I had to drive 18 miles through watery soupy mud, and I was really really glad I had the stock flender flares on, because they actually did a fairly decent job of keeping the mud down. My last Jeep had Genright flat fenders, and although they looked nice and gave me enough clearance to run 37s with 2 1/2" of lift, they let mud fly all over the place. One small puddle and the whole Jeep was covered in mud. I said no way am I going with flat fenders again, and after trips like today, I'm glad I kept the stock fender flares. Here is a picture of the old Jeep with Genrights on it, since you asked for pictures. If you live in southern California they're fine.

Gee thanks! Just kidding man... I know someone who put on the bushwacker's on his rig that said he'd help so no biggie there. I'm sure it's like anything else.. Just start working on it & go from there!

kramer2k I prefer the BWs over ACE or cutting the stockers. I was in the same scenario when looking at what to do about my fenders. I wanted the ACE to win, but they're just too narrow, and I didn't care for the fitment on the rears. And their wide version just doesn't look good to me.

I ultimately went with the BWs and am very happy. I think they look great and are very solid.

Not to cause you undue angst, but you gotta cut the splash guards for the Bushwhacker install, too. You could just leave the splash guards out, but then you'd be slinging grime all up into your engine bay every time you wheeled...

However you decide to do it, though, the end product is well worth it.
