Lab Lover There's very few perks to being self employed these days. Mike usually spends new years buying some piece if equipment to get it by year end. Last year he was buying a new forklift on Dec. 30th. Gotta get the last minute tax write offs or pay it all in taxes.

No complaints from me since they try to keep us from working OT. I don't mind the comp time because they offer to payout left over vacation time once per year, usually in January. Wife doesn't like the vacation payout though because I never want to take any time off near the end of the year so I can cash it out.

Nice Lisa! I mentioned this to my wife (because I want a truck) and she told me I should start my own business lol.

Nah its going to be steel. I could do aluminum and run that plastic stuff on it, but just so expensive. It's going to be heavy but pretty sure it will be perfectly fine under there lol.

Congratulations on the new trucks.
I really like that Brownstone color. I'm going to be trading / selling my new 2015 truck in 2016 and getting a new one with the Duramax diesel when they come out. When I do unless they offer another color I'll more then likely get the Bronze Alloy.

Gunner Thats a lot of hours. Same thing as when I owned my own engine shop. Too many hours and I got no overtime. But it paid the bills.

suicideking At least you guys get over time. I work for a small business and the owners don't pay over time. We just get 'comp' time. At least we don't have regular over time though, just special circumstances like servers dying.

No Phil ..government only pays DoD time and a half after 40hrs. The only way to get double time is if you work on a holiday. ..and even then they don't call It that. They give you Holiday pay and then you work straight time for that day.

I'm not complaining or will I ever ...I'm doing what I do for the best cause I can think of....I do it for our guys in the sand!

Try these guys. Their prices are very good and big selection so you can only pay one shipping.

The only thing his Jeep will get is some type rubber strip over his tires to get traction. When he was little and had the little scoot along truck we used a hot glue gun to lace glue over his tires. He was able to ride it on the hard wood floors without sliding. The Jeep has issues in the sand so Grandpa Mike will have to deal with that this spring

Sounds like my old Tax Season days.....no overtime though I sooooo don't miss that profession!!

We're going to look at some new trucks for Mike tomorrow. We're going to look at GMC, which he has never had and wants to research further. He has only had two trucks, both Ford F350's and both have been beat to crap and actually held up amazingly. He's a little nervous to go a different route, but so much has changed we're going to see what our options are.
