Silverton34 If you have a TJ you should be able to drill out a stripped nut and drop a bolt from above through the old nut or just the brace.

Please help. Welded nut on rear shock mount broke off

I don't know the best way to describe my problem as I'm new to the Jeep world. But I'll do my best. Please bear with me.

The bar pin on my rear passenger side shock broke the other day. When I went to install a new pin and screw the shock back underneath the frame, I noticed that one of the bolts wasn't grabbing. Upon further review, one of the nuts on the pre-drilled holes in the frame snapped off. The nut on one side is welded to the frame. The nut on the other side is missing.

My question/s is/are:

A) How can I get another nut welded onto the frame? The original nuts are welded inside the frame so it's difficult to get my hands in there.
B) Is there an alternative to welding another nut on? Is there a better way to remount the shock?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
