EricsRubi Nothing worse than wanting to take a trip back to the po's house and beating him to the point he pays to fix the tranny

Long story short second and third gear, synchros, and bearings. Together they ate the main shaft.

Since then I haven't done anything to it but I just got my new Sway Bar links yesterday so those will go on this weekend

Noish Oh and replaced all speakers also. I also need a Bazooka Tube for it next

Noish I first got my 2000 with 89k miles I replaced all fluids with synthetic and bought rims, some 33x12.50s and a zone 4.25" combo lift. That weekend I went on a 26hour hellish experience lifting the Jeep in 110* direct sunlight on a driveway over a two day period and swore never again.
Next ill either do sound dampening on the hard top or buy a soft top. Probably soft top and buy dampening right before next winter

DaWrangler It's my VERY FIRST JeeP !! Drove it home 100 miles from purchase, not knowing what to expect on the way home, crossed fingers & toes, everything cramped up so I un-crossed them. There were no maintenance records available. Before the purchase, (I checked the fluids, the brakes worked, wondered if the tranny is shifitng OK, 4WD shifted ok, are the lug nuts tightened, will it pass emissions, It didn't have any leaks when I looked underneath but is it leaking now? Made it home, parked it in the drive way, went into da garage and got a frosty beer, got back in the drivers seat, cracked it open and high fived the steering wheel! I'm officially hooked! I did not realize what I have been missing.....

Exactly.......also had them put it on the rack for me and went over it with the mechanic to make sure the Tie rod ends were OK as well as looking for the obvious things we could see from under there....Sure made me feel better about the Jeep after doing that and seeing that everything was in good shape

You can always tell when somebody gets thier first Jeep. You couldn't punch the smile off my face once I got the top off for the first time.

After changing all the fluids, I did a lot of cheap or free mods. Removed side steps, milk jugs, fender flare extensions, and carpet. Bedlined the bumpers, fog light housings, and all the chrome parts I could find. Got a new shift knob. Wired a switch into the fusebox to disable the door light switches for easy doorless operation. Replaced the stock radio with a nice kenwood unit.

From there the upgrades just got more expensive, but the Jeep just keeps getting better.

viperx6x9x Whatever the hubcaps were doing on there, I am glad they are gone. Hubcaps look dumb on any vehicle.

LomanGT Removed the plastic hubcaps that mirrored the stock rims, but were made to look like fake chrome.

Let that sink in for a minute.
