mike25 Sweet thank you. That's good news. Also does anyone have the NSG370 6 speed. What kind.of fluid do you use.

Crazyflyingplastics The gauge isn't very accurate on the wrangler. I can usually go about 150 miles and it says I am only down 1/2 a tank. But by about 210 miles I am getting near the red. It sounds like you are getting right around what the avg typically is for mpg. Def change out o2 sensors and spark plugs, may help a bit.

mike25 I filled up tonight and put in 15.6 gallons which I don't under stand because my needle was in the red.

Crazyflyingplastics How many gallons are you putting in when you fill up? I seriously doubt you are running it completely empty, then putting in 19 gallons. 200 divided by 19 gallons equals 10.5 mpg. Divide 200 by how many gallons you are actually filling up, that will give a bit more accurate mpg.

mike25 I always do oil change, trans fluid change, plugs, and air filter when I buy a new car but its been so cold and snowing I.haven't done any I bought it about 2 weeks ago. See that just makes no sense bigger tires and better mpg. The jeep only had one owner I bought it off a new car dealer who claimed to have changed the oil topped off all fluids what have you bit due to the snow and my busy schedule I haven't gotten to check anything so I will be doing that asap

SeVeReDiStOrTiOn How's the maintenance? If you're not the original owner you should have done everything you can think of maintenance wise already...that way you have a clean slate to start with. I'd start there and being you're knocking on 100k replacing the front o2's wouldn't be a bad idea.

And to answer the mpg question I drive a lot like you but with an auto and 31's...same gearing. I fill up around 250-260 miles and put in 16.xx gal usually...that's like what 15-16 average mpg?

mike25 Will do. Thank you. And air intakes do harm the motor? That's not a myth?

reissigree No don't put an air intake. Check spark plugs. Check O2 sensors. That's all I got.

Beating a dead horse

guys i realize that this is absolutely beating a dead horse.....BUT gas milage on my wrangler seems to be lower than it really should be. i was just wondering what everone else is getting with their 19 gallon tank. i have a 2006 wrangler golden eagle with facotry 30s factory 3.73s and the 6 spees nsg370 and im gettin about 200 miles per tank averaging me at 10.5 miles per gallon! thats no where near the average i read of people getting 14-17 i by no means have a heavy foot with this jeep. i want to get a 2 inch lift with 32s without re gearing but if my mileage is gunna suffer from that even more idk. i drive it very easy shifting around 2300 rpms in each gear and i try to put it 6th as much as i can generally rifing around between 1700 rpms and 2200 its a combination of highway and city driving but i definately get worse milage on the highway and i never go above 65 genarally around 60. first one can i do to improve it i realize its not a prius but could putting an exhaust on and a air intake system improve it, not to mention i have 92000 miles and i heard cold air intake systems hurt your motor over time. thanks alot guys
