Try doing it right, check out The Retrofit Source online: headlight upgrades for all applications and HiDplanet : The Official Automotive Lighting Forum to get some knowledge on properly installing HIDs to not only get the most out of them from a driving stand point but also for not ruining the vision of drivers on the other side of the road. Cheap is rarely the best solution.
I have rampage housings, all glass. Check them out people. 8000k is a really nice color

Neil F. smoked or blacked out = less lightput. None of the "good" headlight manufactuers make a blacked out headlight

rolandj does anyone know of a housing that is sort of smoked or blacked out

Neil F. 7" Jeep Black Round Clear Lens Replacement Head Lamps Projector Headlights | eBay

Pure junk:

They are not projectors. It just a clear center. I don't know what is black. If it is the lens or the reflector but regardless, it is going to reduce the light output.

HID put out a lot of light and will blind other drivers if you do not control the cutoff. True projectors do the best job. Ecodes will also cut down on glare.

rolandj so will those housing I have work or not? I put item number on my post sop that you can see. I love the light cux its blacked out. Maybe here is a different lense to use?

Neil F. You will get lots of opinions regarding adding HIDs to H4 halogen housings (many of the people have no experiance with them). I've had mine for 3 years. Many that have HIDs will agree that you need to at least put them in European Spec (Ecode) housings. Ecode does not allow as much glare as DOT (US) housings. H.I.D.s on my TJ = WOW! - JeepForum.com

I'll have to check the box to be exact, I know the guy that owns a local car accessory and audio store. I was in there talking to him about putting HIDs in and he had some 7in universal headlights that he ordered for an impala or something. I ended up getting those for $20. The had a metal bracket on the back so I cut the brackets off and I had to add some padding around the headlight ring to keep them snug, now the are good to go.
