If it was OK before and just recently started rubbing, the problem is likely a worn mount. Replace motor (engine) mounts and transmission mount.
For a quick fix, I'd be tempted to notch the crossmember and weld in a new piece to lower the area of contact... or even just remove the cross and smack the spot with a sledgehammer a few times. I would consider these temporary measures until I could address the root cause of the change... probably worn mounts.

Thank you for the reply and pic. I will post a couple pics I took last night. I just need about 1/4" of clearance for it to not hit.

I ran a T18 behind my stock V6 in the '71.
The '71 and your 74 are slightly different, I'm not sure if the crossmember is the same. I used my factory crossmember, and a transmission mount designed for the T14 tranny that bolted to the Texas-pattern adapter on the back of the T18. I had to slot one of the holes in the trans mount slightly, but it worked great.
Let me see if I can find an old pic...
Here ya go...
I'm running a D18 in this pic instead of the D20 that should be in your '74... but I suspect the crossmember and mount are probably the same through the '75 model year.

CJ5 w/ SBC and T18?
Does anybody else have this setup? If so what crossmember are you running? My front driveline started knocking on my crossmember and I had to take the driveshaft off. I want to fix this and trying to get advice or options.
