|zfender14||Checked the drive shaft and u joints, no play whatsoever. Checked suspension up front too, everything is tight. Like I said, it did make the same noise before the lift. I am having an alignment done and getting a t-case drop (theres vibration in the drivetrain). My only guess is its just the springs popping from the sudden drop over the bump.|

I saw the thread title and thought... "He's doing it wrong!" the slapping goes out back!
Sorry to hijack... Carry on!

|jgano23||did you check the drive shafts?|

|zfender14||No... it doesn't quite look like that... so I think Im good on the mattress thing.|

does it look like this:
b/c if it does then you ran over a mattress.
but seriously, have you checked the drive shafts. when the u-joints go it can sound like a slapping or scraping noise. try checking those. if it is them it is a cheap easy fix.

slapping noise in the front
I have an issue with the front end making a slapping noise when I go over a bump. This happened before I had a lift but now seems to be louder/worse. There doesn't seem to be anything loose, everything is torqued up right.I thought maybe it was the leaf springs or the shackle swing but I dont think that could be since I don't hear the noise coming from the back. Any ideas?
