zfender14 Checked the drive shaft and u joints, no play whatsoever. Checked suspension up front too, everything is tight. Like I said, it did make the same noise before the lift. I am having an alignment done and getting a t-case drop (theres vibration in the drivetrain). My only guess is its just the springs popping from the sudden drop over the bump.

ccain I saw the thread title and thought... "He's doing it wrong!" the slapping goes out back!

Sorry to hijack... Carry on!

jgano23 did you check the drive shafts?

zfender14 No... it doesn't quite look like that... so I think Im good on the mattress thing.

jgano23 does it look like this:

b/c if it does then you ran over a mattress.

but seriously, have you checked the drive shafts. when the u-joints go it can sound like a slapping or scraping noise. try checking those. if it is them it is a cheap easy fix.

slapping noise in the front

I have an issue with the front end making a slapping noise when I go over a bump. This happened before I had a lift but now seems to be louder/worse. There doesn't seem to be anything loose, everything is torqued up right.I thought maybe it was the leaf springs or the shackle swing but I dont think that could be since I don't hear the noise coming from the back. Any ideas?
