|thunda70||I took the clamps off and retightened them and so far so good. I was wondering should I have taken the spring out from the older lower hose and put it in the new replacement hose? Some people say that the newer hoses are made better and the spring is no longer needed.|

|nater344||Did you use the original clamps or did you buy new ones? The steam may be from the radiator fluid spraying on the radiator when it leaked? Just a thought.|

Radiator hose leak
The lower radiator hose just started leaking so I drained the radiator and replaced both the lower and upper hoses with new ones that I bought from Auto Zone. I refilled the coolant and took it for a drive around the block. Everything was fine until I got home and shut off the engine. Now steam was blowing out of the radiator and the lower hose began to leak. The leak is at the end where the hose connects to the water pump. Why is this leaking and why is my radiator now steaming? I made sure the clamps were secure around the hoses.
