dodgetk81 (Info for a 4.0) I believe interchange for a 99 is 99 only. 99 had the newer intake and 2000 had the coil on plug deal and distributorless ignition. Junkyard interchange is based on a whole assembly. It will work in earlier years. An earlier motor should work in a 99, but i would use the 99 intake

za_mhz To my knowledge the 4banger may have changed not sure about the I6. I have a 98 and to switch that to a different 2.5L the block was the same but some sensors were different. That was a while ago and we didn't switch the engine anyway. Don't quote me on this though i'm still kinda new and that was going from an 98 to a 95.

does '99 have to replace '99?

I was told at a junk yard that '99 engines only fit '99. Other years are interchangeable except for '99. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is what did they they change? More information please. Thanks for your help.
