Opticulus Thanks man!. You have been a lot of help. I don't have the security pins, but I know what your talking about. I'll have other questions later. Thanks Dude

Jerry Bransford It's an easy swap... remove the windshield wiper arms, remove the torx bolts holding the rollbar to the windshield, and remove the torx bolts that hold the windshield hinge to the frame.

Two cautions... 1) Use ONLY a sharp clean good quality (NO CHEAPIES!!) torx adapter to remove the bolts and use a breaker bar instead of a ratchet wrench. Use a LOT of perfectly straight-in pressure to keep the torx head adapter FIRMLY centered in the bolt head to keep it from stripping it out which happens regularly. I recommend a breaker bar to give you more leverage while giving greater control to keeping the torx adapter straight and pushed into the bolt head. Otherwise the bolt head will strip out and then you'd have to drill it out... and the bolt head seems to be a pretty soft steel so it is easier to strip than you may think it will be.

#2... if the torx bolts that hold the rollbar to the windshield are "security torx" bolts with that little pin in the opening to keep standard torx head adapters out, no problem... use a punch pin or a screwdriver and hammer to snap the pin off. It's brittle enough that it won't present any problems removing it with just a few taps with the hammer.

Opticulus Now that you mention it, I agree. That probably means the guy selling it doesn't know the diff. between a YJ and a TJ. I wasn't sure if it was 96 or 97 when they changed last time. I know it's a TJ by the picture, so yeah, I mean a 97. Have you has any experience in chaging out frames, like complication wise?
Thanks

Jerry Bransford A '96 TJ? No such thing... do you mean a '97 which was the first model year for the TJ? If you do, then there is no difference between it and a '99.

96' and 99' TJ Windshield frame question.

Whazzup guys and gals? Does anyone know if a 96' windshield frame will fit a 99'? If not, anyone know where I can get a 99' windshield frame? Thanks to all who answer.
