NCN8 I can tell ya that a few years back, up near havelock that the state troopers would wait for tow trucks to come pull people out at the power lines off 9 mile road... It cost s lot more than 200.00 to get your rig out of impound. And there are holes on there that are too nasty for 37's..... My buddy had a Cherokee on 37's and many of times his headlights were submerged!

Fena1977 I have a 2007 Unlimited Sahara and I am looking for a club here in Jacksonville to join and finally get my tires dirty. Anyone know of any clubs around here?

ilmjumper Powerlines are definitely not legal and the holes out there are nasty. Crazy deep and sloppy if that's your style....last time i was out that way we had to jump a few log and go through a pretty deep ditch to get back there..no biggie with a lift and decent tires, but i wouldn't recommend it if you're stock. Not sure how patrolled it is now but we didn't see anyone.

jolayiv According to the forestry site they are for vehicles with a wheel base less than 80". I have been hearing a lot about the power lines lately. I have no idea if that's legal.
03-14-2013 06:29 PM
MAStephens89 Ya, I was told you can purchase a permit to ride the approved trails but can still get a ticket for riding the non approved (200$ a pop!). The permit is 30$ from I was told.

I hear ya. Well I plan on taking another trip out to Uwharrie. It won't be in April because I have a small DET out to Boise. You girls down for a trip in say May or June? Get there on a Friday wheel Saturday morning and night leave Sunday whenever the alcohol wears off.
