How big of tires do you want? Size of the tire will dictate your other decisions ie backspacing etc.
16X8" rims with 4.5" backspacing and 33" ie 285/75R16's will be just a bit out side being flush with the fender flares, close but still outside. I wish I had 5" bs I think I would be just inside.

K7MDL I have the 17" MB TKO with 4.5" BS and 285/70/R17 BFG A/T KO and they are just inside the stock fenders, just perfect. I am not a rock crawler dude, but moderate 4x4 driving in Moab and Colorado passes and highway - brakes are just fine on my 2013.

bcummings really upgrade brakes?!?!

I run 18 stock wheels/tires now...why would I need to upgrade brakes

DJL2 I wouldn't do the 17s simply because the rubber and the wheels tend to be both more expensive and real upside unless you plan on upgrading your brakes and need the space inside the wheel to do so.

WXman I'd do the 17s that have around 18mm of positive offset. That'll keep the tread under the fenders and will look fantastic.

Farnham21 Why not 15s? I am in the same boat now what kind of tires/size you looking at? 35s on 15s are less than 300 a tire, you want 35s on 17s and they are skiing over 400 for some
