That color looks absolutely awesome. Great choice.
The reason you get more waves is it's kind of like smiling at a pretty girl versus ugly girl You're less inclined to smile at a the girl with messy hair and coke bottle glasses but the glowing blonde however...

I get waves a lot more than I did pre-paint job. It definitely stands out. I know the color isn't for everyone but I like it.
The flat fenders are bed lined and it would have been more to paint them.

That looks great! Love the way the color turned out.
Just curious why you didn't have the front flats painted to match the rear?

Sweet! I just love that orange.
Something about color that makes everyone wanna wave too....

Alright guys here we go. Sorry it took so long. Damn Gen Right stealth LEDs took me longer to figure out than I planned.

|yoopone||So what happens with all the interior surfaces? Will they still be the original OEM color or does Maaco paint those also?|
|05-03-2013 08:48 AM|
Maaco has several tiers of paint jobs and they also have different specials going on all the time. Check your local Maaco's website for active specials.
I didn't want to do any prep work so no. The only thing I did was remove the hardtop, spare, and turn signal lights. I walked around their shop and saw the prep work they were doing on other vehicles, sanding, etc. Looked like they do a thorough job.
If you do all your prepwork, you could get a flat rate. It looks like Maaco's structure is you have the base cost of the painting (the advertised price), then they tack on $100 for moderate sanding/prep, and $200 for heavy sanding/prep.
A base coat (no integrated clearcoat) can start as low as $299 on special. I went with the integrated clear for purposes of looks and longevity, and it was a bit more with prep and I got it on a special rate.
WRT pics - I will post them up this weekend. I finally finished putting the Gen-Right stealth LED kit on my Jeep working last night and haven't had good lighting to take pics outside.

|lolitsdaelan||Looks great dude! Also curious about the total cost...|

|_PipeHitter_||In for pics! If you don't mind, care to post how much it cost? Did you do any prep work?|

|mrobinso||Dang that looks good! Don't worry folks I plan to post up soon. I had it in the garage last night to install the genright stealth marker and turn signal lamps and of course I am having issues with the LEDs so I never moved it out of the garage to take pics this morning. Will grab some tonight and post!|

Well, here's the reward for 8 hours hard work yesterday.....
Come on OP, let's have it

|lolitsdaelan||C'mon OP, deliver!|

|nissanman1||I really like the Lime Green myself.|
|04-30-2013 06:03 PM|
|Reznor||I prefer the Rescue Green over the Commando Green....|
|04-30-2013 03:43 PM|
Can't wait to see what it looks like. I ordered a similar shade for mine and I'm confident enough to do the work myself. I also have the gear. I have a few ideas of my own, but they may change once the basecoat is on....

|mrobinso||Pick up the Jeep tomorrow and was able to swing by the shop and see it today. Looks great! Can't wait to take it out for a spin and post some pics here.|

|mrobinso||Thanks. I am pretty pumped.|

Jeep went into to be painted this morning. Took some pics of it for the "before" so I can post up "after" pics.
Will let you all know how it goes. Going with a shade between Impact Orange and Dozer.

|Jwolfer||Call me old fashioned but the bright JK colors look a little fruity to me. That being said I'd go with commando green.|

Not sure if anyone has said this, but why paint? You can have it wrapped for almost the same price. It is actually more durable than paint. When you go to sell it, the new owner can either keep it your color, or go back to the original.
Just an idea.

|jeepers29||Do you have any other choices instead of Maaco? I have never seen a nice paint job from Maaco. I would search around and check reviews in your area before you choose a place to paint your Jeep. IMHO|

|KingTJ||Dozer, orange crush, or dune. Any of the three would look nice as hell IMO!!|
