thedaringmove Calculations are pretty close. I'm going to change the design to have the subs downward facing from advice of another Jeeper.

They sound great, fit perfect in the corner, and it takes no effort to install. Been in this jeep for 3 years now, and its holding up just fine.
Out of my price range plus I've already got an amp.

thedaringmove Kicker comps it is. Saving time

thedaringmove Okay I went and took some measurements and Designed a 1.4~ cubic foot box. Ima look into kicker 10"s and hopefully that will be enough for them both.

doclouie It varies sub to sub so you would need to check the manufacturer's site. Also an open box takes more volume than a sealed box. A sealed box takes a larger amp than an open box though.

Just be aware that there is not enough cubic feet of space for a 10" or 12" sub if you are going to build a box to the correct manufacturer's volume specifications. Behind the seat you can barely get 1 cubic foot of space in the box.
Very good to know. What are the drawbacks to having 8" subs versus 10"? How many cubic feet are needed for the tens?

DIY sub box?

Has anyone made their own sub box to fit behind the rear seat? Is there anything to it? Two tens or one twelve? Can I see pictures of people's?

I already have an amp ready to go.
