Holton345 Not to my JK, per se, but for my JK...

Bought a set of 2 door Rubi Rails to fill in the gaps of my Ace sliders. Should look great after I have cleaned them up and bedlined them! I will post a pic soon.

I just got home from a six hour drive. It is after 1:00 AM. I am shot. But the drive was worth it as these things are NOT easy to find around here. (I have checked CL at least four times a week for the past eight months.) You occasionally find a set of JKUR rails, but not the 2 door variety, and I wanted mine to be the correct length when I got them, not after I hacked on them.

A bit of elbow grease with a good wire wheel, some Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer paint and some Rust-Oleum rattle can bedliner and these will complete the look of my JK sides with protection strong enough for anything I will ever put it through. (I seriously beat on my TJ, but my JK gets treated more gently as it is my DD. I only off road it about one weekend a month except in the deep of winter. It is my baby...)

As I said, pics later. Maybe tomorrow. But I need blessed unconsciousness for eight hours.

Goodnight, guys...

flyinion Got it totally naked for the first time in the 2 1/2 years I've owned it. Top has been off for a while now. Finally got around to putting my RR mirrors on and pulling the doors for the first time. 3 came off really easy, front passenger just had to open it 90 degrees from closed and it popped right off too. Much lighter than expected. I swear I read somewhere they were like 70lbs each for the front and 50 for the rears. Pretty sure that's wayyy off.

Well I got I I a bad car accident and got some good money back from it.. Pretty much stole the jeep from the dealer for 19,000. But I took each tire off the car and used a whole can on each rim. (Make sure very even) when putting lugs back in hand screw them in until you can't anymore then be very careful when using the tire iron to tighten them all back. When waiting for them to dry use a fan it'll help dry them faster. Before you spray the plasti dip make sure to wash rims really well with soap and water and then DRY EXTREMELY WELL bounce the tire up and down once it's off to make sure all water is off it will cause it to make bubbles if you don't.. But that is all I did and all you really need to know.

For me it does, it's one of those YMMV kind of things. I go between my left foot on the floor and leg extended with my foot on the dead pedal. I like having the second option.

mwmoon My dad and I installed my new Engo 10k winch this afternoon. I am a little intimidated by anything even remotely electrical, so there was some trepidation going into the job. It was a very simple installation, but I'm still proud of myself for being able to get it done.

Thanks for sharing this. Sorry for your bad experience. I'm in the market for a good lock and now I will scratch RR off of my list.

I just got a 5x3 sheet of it from Amazon, then spent the extra width whittling it down bit by bit, testing different angles and corner radii (and practicing my trimming skillz). When I got to where I was happy, I cut out the hinge slots and just freeballed it on the install - a hood-on-the-dining-room-table type deal. (Workshop woulda been too dusty for such shenanigans.)

Figured I'd rather run wire now...than in the winter when I can finally afford an sPOD.

The wires will be for future rear lights.

Looking at the sPOD install videos, I'm planning out all my wiring so that I wont need to keep going back and running/zip tying a bunch of lines. (like when I pull the sPOD wiring harness through the firewall....pulling any other lines I might need at the same time. I'm hard wiring my Valentine One, plus a hot for SPOT Trace supplemental power...and maybe an interior light..inside lighting sucks)
I did the same thing when I installed my A Pillar Switch Pod. Ran everything up into engine compartment so that when I start adding on the wiring is done.
