Belt/ pulley noise? It can definitely change with temperature. I had a very subtle "belt noise" when cold, so I pulled the belt, and was surprised at how rough and noisy my idler and tensioner pully bearings were. I replace these all the time on customers' vehicles, but they're usually very noisy by the time they bring the vehicle in.

Patrick H Pull the serpentine belt, and spin the idler and tensioner pullies by hand. You might be surprised at what you hear and feel.

new opda still chirping

I put in a new dorman opda last week old one was not to bad but still chewed a little. Every thing was good but last night it started making a chirp again. It was only above 1500 rpm and only when driving (sitting at a red light I was reving but could not get it to make the sound. It stopped after a few min driving. I did notice that the idler pully appearsto have rubber burnt on itbut feels fine qwhen spinning it, could that cause a chirping
