stevens243 Heck, send that thing out to cali. Our DMV is cost prohibitive, but other than smog, the allow just about anything out here.

I don't have extra wide fenders or mud flaps (or an inspection sticker, for that matter).

No smog on a new vehicle for 5 years unless you sell it and every 2 years after that (90 pre-sale on smogs too, up to the owner to do).

M DMV is right up there with Cali, MA, NY etc. In fact, MD is right up there in just about everything, except we were rated worst in the country for taxes. Can't beat us there

Anywho, I am kind of at a loss too. I think I am just going to tell them to replace the two 6" pocket flares in the front with the same ones (needs to be done to sell it wholesale anyway), get rid of the spacers, and adjust the steering stops. Hopefully the wheels won't rub in the rear without em If they do, guess it'll be a wholesale Jeep to someone who wants to put a little more time/money into it. Shame too, it really is a nice Jeep other than the darn 3" body lift.

pyro remove wheel spacers seems like the easiest and cheapest way to procede. and dealerships always like cheapest. (at least all the ones I've worked with)

jgano23 couldn't they just make some 1" rubber or plastic bushings, mount those to the body and then mount the flare to that? it's kind of the same idea as a BL but on the fender. flares it would be very ugly and the set up would be a little flimsey, but it might pass. idk, i'm at a loss here.

Joe Dirt Is MD Department of Motor Vehicle that much of a PITA? Mudflaps? Once all that crap is on the Jeep it will look stupid and no one will want it. Who wants 8" flares

Remove spacers, 3" body lift and it will sell quick for the right price.

Pretty much. Really, they want to get 4 flares that will cover that tires, and some mud flaps to attach to the flares and be done with it. But, like I said, the Jeep already has 6" pocket flares on it, and the new flares need to be 1.5-2 inches wider. So I would need a 7.5-8 inch flare. I figure if I can find a 7.5 or something, and it's just barely too thin, they can always put a couple washers to bring it out a tiny bit more.

Flares and tire coverage

Dealership asked me for some help, but they don't like any of my suggestions Maybe some of you guys can come up with something.

They traded a nice Unlimited TJ. Has 33x12.5 tires on it, new wheels, 3" body lift (ugh..), bushwacker pocket flares, and the milk jugs removed. They want to retail it rather than wholesale it, because it is a pretty nice Jeep. So, it needs to pass inspection. The tires are wider than the Buckwacker pocket flares (Which I am assuming are 6"), so it's a pretty fair bet there are some wheel spacers there.

In order to pass inspection, they need flares that will cover the wheels. The front two flares are all cracked up anyway, so anything goes really. They also need to put mud flaps on the flares, because the bushwackers aren't covering enough tire height wise either. It looks like they need another 1.5-2" of flare, and mud flaps to pass inspection.

Anyone know of any 8" flares? All I can find are 6, 6.5, and 7. I don't think 7 will be enough, and the $600 warn's are a little ridiculous anyway. I already suggested cheap factory sized tires, and removing the 3" body lift, but they don't want to do that. I suggested removing the wheel spacers, and adjusting the steering stop, they don't want to do that either
