|jokerchief462||Not really biggest PIA is getting the shifter boot removed to get the two too linkage nuts off. Weighs about 45 pounds. Drain it first. Skid off support engine with jack and 2X4 across oil pan. The trans is heavy I have a tranny jack to old to mess with that anymore.|

On the 89 2.5 you can remove the inspection plate after you remove the starter to take a closer look. If it is brake fluid then slave cylinder which is internal and you will have to remove T-Case and Tranny. Might think about all the clutch at one time the slave comes with the rest of the clutch kit.
Only special tools needed are the starter bolts and possibly two bell housing bolts upper torqz.
Might want a tranny jack remove as one unit or split the T-Case and Tranny and put in new seals.

hi every body i have a problem i have a 1989 jeep wrangler 4 cyl. i have a leak coming from between the tranny and engin block i belive its coming from the clutch slave cylinder in the trany so is this a comond problem and are they hard to replace do i need special tools what causes these to leak
