CavCop I would look at DBA rotors and semi-metallic pads.

kenb1023 Well I went with the Rabestos slotted rotors in front a Centric sloted rotors in the rear (Raybestos wer back orderd) all have Hawk HPS pads. Big improvement on stoping power. Never realized how small the rear pads were.

warbird24 There is a WIDE quality difference in rotors. Many of the chain Parts stores source theirs from China. I'm not sure where Raybestos makes theirs, but I do know they are good quality. I'll probably go with factory one's like I did on my WJ. Better quality and most times the "hat" area has an E-Coating on them to prevent rust.

2five22 Hawk pads, yes. Slotted or drilled rotors? I wouldn't bother.

outback I went with the drilled and slotted power stops because I run 37s and my stopping distance was bad. Stopping distance is much shorter now. Never had a problem with mud in slots that I've noticed.

wheels082 I don't have a rotor recommendation, but I would highly recommend the Hawk pads.

jkjeeper06 Slotted rotors tend to collect mud in jeeps. Although they stop better when clean, they will wear out your pads quicker and can just cause headaches when stuff gets caught in it

The reason I mentioned it was because JK rears usually go before the fronts which is opposite of most vehicles.

I went with the Terra Flex big brake kit and master cylinder a little over a year ago. With all the weight adding mods this was, in my opinion, one of the best mods I've done.

I haven't had a chance to put a lot of miles on it so I can't speak to the longevity of the pads but the stopping power is fantastic.

A couple of different options, slotted rotors or standard rotors, neither of which I think is too expensive.

I have Power Stop drilled and slotted on my Durango and it was a great improvement especially when pulling the boat. That is why I was looking at them for the Jeep

but i wouldn't ever bother with slotted/drilled rotors on a wrangler. i wouldn't even put it on a regular road car. waste of money and you'll never see any worthwhile performance improvement. IMHO.

Front Brake Rotor/Pad Sugestions

Looking to replace the front Brake rotors and pads. Has anyone used the Raybestos Slotted rotors? What other rotors work well with a JKU? For the pads I was thinking Hawk LTS or Akebono ProAct Pads. What has worked best for you in the past.
