Yes. The Savvy skid fits the tank like a glove such that it needs to be pressed in. If you don't understand why this is so beneficial, then you won't appreciate that difference. The Savvy skid comes with new straps out of necessity, not formality. And the skid is designed to mount as far back as possible.

kylekae I looking at ucf because they are so close and I will have it sooner. Savvy is backordered. Have a bl either company will offer the extra high clearance. I have bought from both and just wondering if their would be that great of a difference between the 2.
Both skids have
Dimple
Aluminum(ucf is actually lighter in weight
Extra clearance
Soo other than that and the extra fasteners is there really a difference

Jerry Bransford If you knew Savvy's designer and his penchant for elegant designs that are functionally perfect, you probably wouldn't even look at any other brands.

Imped Out of those two, Savvy. No question.

savvy is the best choice in gas tank skids right now. that's what replaced my previous Kilby and wouldn't run anything else.

Savvy makes some of the most detail-oriented gear I've come across. Well-worth the dough.

doclouie The Savvy skid is really thought out well and comes with all the hardware you need, plus if you have a BL you can tuck the tank higher. If you do a BL down the line you can adjust the Savvy tank skid to accommodate the BL and tuck the tank skid higher as it has two heights that it can be adjusted too. I doubt the UCF comes with all the hardware needed and has two possible heights.

savvy or UCF aluminum gas tank skid. OPINIONS

I need a aluminum gas tank skid for my lj. I will be getting the high clearance skid. The savvy and ucf skid r the same price for me cause the shipping balances out. Both have dimple and ucf is actually lighter. I know u guys are port savvy but are there really and differences between the 2 aluminum skids?
