You have to add 1 inch to a wheel that is listed as 8 inches. So 9/2=4.5 backspace since offset is zero.

It means the wheel mounting pad on his wheels is at the wheel centerline.

mike1158 i'm curious, you said a 17X8 wheels with 0 offset? what is the offset? you mean spacers? i'm pretty sure its not backspacing....
please school me on this?

I put wheels on my/my wife's new Jeep :)

My wife and I traded in her '03 Liberty 2 weeks ago for a 2013 Commando Green Freedom Edition. It was sad to see the Liberty go.... for about 8 seconds.

Today the Wrangler received Black Rock Viper wheels, 17x8 with 0 offset, with 285/70/17 BF Goodrich AT tires. The backspace and tire size are peeerrfect, it put the tires right outside the fender about 1.5-2 inches.

Everything else is stock. If the backend seems kind of low, its because I had 400lbs of stock wheels sitting in there

Sooooooooooo, woohoo
