|joeylead||ill get a pic tomorrow. its hitting the double cardan joint. just ever so slightly. but thats why i wanted to see a pic of the linkage on a stock wrangler. i am wondering if wither the bracket on the tcase or the rod are installed backwards.|

|IndyJeepMan||Theres far less clutter with the novak cable so no you wont have any DS issues, and the only reason I think youre having DS issues is because the dropped extended crappy linkage.|

|doclouie||It just makes it shift perfectly. I am not sure why more clearance would be needed. What is it rubbing on? Pics?|

|joeylead||Does the Novak setup make for more clearance with the driveshaft.?|

|doclouie||Novak requires no fab work. Installs easily and works very well. Adjusted it when I put it in and have not touched it since.|

I just replaced mine with a novak setup and there was no fab needed, everything fit perfect and it works even more perfecter.

231j tcase linkage question
The front drieveshaft is hitting the t case linkage and causing a nasy thumping. it happenes when you first take off then stops and was worse in 4wd. I just got the jeep and am finding many little things to fix on it. There is a 4" lift on the jeep and it has a t-case drop of about an inch. a linkage drop bracket is installed.
Can someone post (or describe) the correct orientaion of the arm that goes from the post that goers into the body then down to the leve ron the side of the tcase? It can mount 2 ways since the pins face in oppossite directions. Om mine, the top is inserted towards the center of the vehicle so the lower part of the arm goes through the bracket with the end towards the direveshaft. it is that little protrusion that the shaft is hitting. I am wondering if this arm is installed in reverse. I soearched online for a few pics and it seems that uless i am looking wrong, i am finding pics of the arm mounted both ways.
I ust had the jeep inspects and it was the mechanic who told me that the shaft was hittting the linkage. i originally thought it was a front ujoint. I asked about play in the driveshaft ujoints or in the tranny/tcase mounts. her said there wasa tiny bit, nothing unusual.
In a prior thread i made, someone mentioned the novak shifters. but they looked like they have som fabbing to make work. are there any bolt in types of shifter replacements if it comes to that?
