spr0k3t What eboven said. you don't go to a concert and turn around to watch the crowd. Build the best stage up front and then go mid bass for the rear. also when it comes to getting bass out of a jeep, it is like installing a subwoofer in a cardboard box and hoping for the best.

eboven My recommendation would be to get some midrange drivers without tweeters. has a pretty good selection for any price range - just be sure to order two if they don't specify that it's a pair. 2 ohm speakers will draw more power from your amp, so that's your best bet as long as you have a decent quality amp.

Stuff the soundbar with polyfill, and if you can afford it, layer it with sound deadening like dynamat or something similar. Set your amp's low pass filter as high as it can go, most amps will let you cut 200htz and above, but it may be higher; the higher you set it, the more midbass you will get out of the rear. Keep in mind that good low end response will be nearly impossible with 6.5" drivers... they are really designed for midbass and rear fill for a full system with a subwoofer.

Tweeters right behind your head are annoying and really aren't doing anything other than screwing up your soundstage. If you just want a bit more bass, than a midrange woofer is the way to go.

beaureed445 The Polk db651's get good reviews here. I'm actually doing the same thing to my TJ right now. My db521's and 651's arrived today. My Nalin brackets are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

Best 6.5/6.75 speaker for bass

I'm upgrading the system in my 98 TJ. It came with a Pioneer head unit, and will be adding a 4ch. amp with a rating of 40-60 RMS. Haven't decided on the brand amp yet. I already picked up some Polk db521's and brackets for the front. What do you guys suggest for a good soundbar speaker that will provide the best bass for that size? Also how about slim vs regular?

I may add a sub somehow in the future, but I'm concerned about security. That's why I would like to see what I could do with the stock locations.
