Nope. Never get time. Soccer season runs from first of August to first week of December, and then cheerleading season is late December to first week in March. I could have gone with wants_a_jeep had I read this post before that day. I managed to have that day open and the weather was nice out too.

I just finished getting the diffs regeared to 4.10 about a month ago. So, I'm about as ready as I'm gonna be. Finally got a few weekends free lately, but the weather is gonna break and more activities will fill up my weekends in short order. Wont bore you with the plans, but yeah, I need to get online and find the next class and get up there.

EDIT: I see the next 101 is in May. Might be able to get that day free.

So, were there any manual transmission jeeps there that day? Looks like it would be easy for automatics, but running first gear all the time, especially during that down hill run would be a chore.

Guess I need to get my butt up there!

wants_a_jeep Finished the class back at the hotel now Was a great time started on the trail at 9:45 and ended at 3:30 with a 30 min break inbetween. no real damage to any of the jeeps. Had a 2 Xterra's 1 Pathfinder and a lifted Tocoma. Only 2 of the jeeps had modifications. Took a few photos will post them and this is a recommended class if ever I even want to take it again

4wheelin I'm eager to hear your point of view on the class after you have completed it. I was looking at this course last fall, but never got the chance. Had I seen this earlier, I would have attended. Perhaps April or May.

Hubdeep This is a great way for any beginner to offroading to learn how your rig handles Offroad.
02-23-2013 09:38 PM
wants_a_jeep Just thought of this but the I'll have empty seats in my JKUR if you want to just park your jeep and ride with me for the $7 memeber / $15 none member for the class. Might even stay at a hotel or something near by and do some more offroading sunday if I can get atleast one person with a 4x4 to go also since they have a 2 vehicle rule to get into the park.

wants_a_jeep Ok So here is the info I found out about the 101 beginers class... cut and paste right from email.

The scheduled monthly class has a start time of 9:30am with the day wrapping up around 3:30pm.
The class does stop around noon for a short break so you might want to pack a lunch if you decide to attend.
The fee for the class is $150.00 plus park fees which are $50.00 for non Rausch creek members and $35.00 for members.
Passengers are more than welcome to attend and the rates for them are $15.00 for non members and $7.00 for members.
There is no "Classroom" time, all the training is done out on the trails.
The class will show you as the driver and your Jeep can do off road all without damaging anything.
Approach, Departure, Break Over angles, driving lines, tackling different hill climbs, water and mud obstacles are some of the topics that are taught and you will accomplish during the class. Also vehicles such as your JK have specific features that not all SUV/4x4 have such as traction control and the hill decent. This class will go over these features and show you how to utilize them correctly.
We definitely encourage new off road drivers to learn about their vehicle and how to use it properly.

If you would like to sign up for the 101 class you can register by going to Home Page, then "Online Store", look for "Ride Deposit" and follow the instructions from there.

... I am new to jeeping and Offroading so I will be attending this class on the 9th of March. PM me if you want to join me. If not i'll be heading back there later in the month (march 23 if all goes well) to put everything I learned in the class to good use and take some good pictures of my jeep in action at the same time
