All Terrain JK FINALLY I HAVE CLEARENCE!
I went to my local drive line shop and picked up a d30 cover for $5. I cleaned it up and painted it and remove the chrome one.

Quite a difference.
Got the new one installed.

And jacked up the suspension.
Plenty of clearance between the track bar and differential.

I went up to 1 1/4" between the cup and pad and could probably bottom them out.

This makes the shocks the limiting factor at 2" as it should be.
Now I can install the shocks and extensions and flex the axle to make sure everything clears at full flex. It took a lot of work but it feels good knowing is done right.

I was rereading this thread to see if I missed anything and sure enough I miss this post. I don't know if it shows up in a quote or not but I just seen the link to your build thread. I bookmarked it so I can go through and read it. Some great information thanks.

put the regular stock cover on first, or a Barnett if you want. that should solve the problems.

an XJ or ZJ will work. an XJ with a HP D30 front will have a higher fill plug.

the gear ratio will have no effect on the cover. the ring gear diameter doesn't change.

All Terrain JK Just a thought but could that be deeper because I have a 4.56 gear? Can I run a stock cover?

All Terrain JK Okay so here's what I got. I moved the track bar over about 3/8" and this is why I have at the Johnny joint.

That's something I'll have to research soon. I have no idea where mines set. I will adjust the track bar tomorrow and post the results. Thanks again.

UnlimitedLJ04 yea the control arms could be part of it. you can rotate the cam backwards to effectively "shorten" the LCA's. i think the track bar is a little too long as well. shorten it a few turns and see if that helps.

what's the eye to eye length of the fixed lower arms? are you on stock uppers too?

if the JJ is hitting the spring perch before full bump, the track bar may be set too long.

All Terrain JK Okay I installed my Currie currectlync and TJJ track bar. I adjusted my track bar so that the axle is centered at ride height. When I check up travel for bump stops the track bar contacts differential cover with the bump stop pad 3 1/4" from the cup. The Johnny joint is also contacting the spring perch. Did I do something wrong adjusting the track bar? If not maybe it's because of the sky jacker fixed lower control arms.

All Terrain JK I found the root of the problem.

I found this on the track bar while removing it. After some more research it seems my "OME" lift is actually a Skyjacker 4". In case you don't see my other thread, I figured I would let you guys know. I don't think it matters anymore because the only thing left will be the springs when I'm done. Thanks again for your help

All Terrain JK Well I found the solution, just throw another $900 at it. I ordered the currectlynk, tjj TB, and a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks. Hopefully this solves my front end issues. Then I can tackle the back

All Terrain JK I already installed OEM pitman arm along with Durango steering gear last week. Old gear blew the bottom shaft seal on the last run in the fall. I am going to have to correct the steering though, no two ways about it. I wish I'd known the extent of my front issues before I ordered my Savvy sliders. Oh well, all the parts for my rear suspension and driveline should be here by tomorrow. I'll move back there while I allocate funds for steering, shocks, and tracbar. At least when it's done it should ride and handle like new money

Imped The way the track bar is mounted to the axle is downright scary....I bet the bump steer is horrible and I wouldn't trust that mount to hold up to the forces it sees forever.....

You're going about figuring this out the right way but until you're able to put the OE pitman arm back on, along with a Currie TJJ track bar, you're going to have issues.

All Terrain JK From the first chart in the above link, it appears I have some type of 4" lift. I measured 12" ride height at the rear springs wich corresponds with 4" on the chart. Also in that link is another link to an OME catalogue which has technical specifications for each lift. When I get home I'll bust out my mm to inch converter and compare. I hate unanswered questions, especially about my jeep.

All Terrain JK Is there any way to tell what the lift is from the info I posted? I will continue to work Google but any help is appreciated. Btw I'm furiously watering the money tree so it will sprout eight more Benjamins for the steering upgrades.

All Terrain JK I have only been going off POs word that it's an OME 4" lift. These are some facts I do know.
Shocks are Skyjacker H7059 hydro. Collapsed 16.56, extended 28.75, stroke 12.14.

most use shocks as the limiting factor at full droop. that's a whole different discussion involving limit straps and breaking shocks....

if you really do have 4" springs, you want something around 15.5" compressed length. that's a 2" bumpstop extension requirement, and I based my previous comments assuming you have 4" OME springs, as you stated in the first post, with OME N66L front shocks.

All Terrain JK Yeah I was afraid of that. Might have to run 4" extensions for the time being. I just invested $2300 in parts to straighten out the rear suspension and driveline. What should limit front axle at full droop? I need new shocks so trying to figure out what size. Btw Unlimited, I have been following that thread like the Bible

UnlimitedLJ04 you're doing it right. you need 4" of bumpstop extension with that crappy setup.

you need a different track bar. That setup you have is a complete mess. Buy a Currie TJS/TJJ from Savvy Off-Road. Move the track bar to the correct mount on the axle, put the steering stabilizer back to the stock location, remove the drop pitman arm & replace it with a stock pitman arm, install the Currie bar, and try this full bump test again with the shocks installed. The shocks should be the limiting factor, at around 2" front bumpstop extension. Do the same for the rear too.

Moabrubi I don't know whose track bar that is, but a Currie trackbar (TJJ?) has the most diff cover clearance.
