I would like to know where you get made in the USA HID. I've never seen a made in USA HIDs only other country is Germany that I've seen them made in.

|Paintrain||WOW! Ha that's an awesome link with good info. I would like to get the JW LEDs. But not for 500 bucks, of hell you never know! I have only had my KC's for a month, but a friend has had his for about a year, no yellowing. I called KC, they said with the Lexan lense, will not turn and by chance if it did, under warranty. The delta H4 was my other choice.|

|Paintrain||I just put 35watt,8000k hid's and KC hilites H4 conversion. Cutoff is great, not blinding people, and looks good. I didn't go with 55 watt due to the fact they don't last as long as the 35 watt. I have bought all my HID kits from xenon market, USA made and seller, Alway have good luck with their products and great customer service. Here are done pics.|

Oh well, I will just put the stock ones back in for inspections every year, and tilt the hid's down a bit and hope I never get pulled over. Hopefully since my jeep is still factory height, if they aren't shining up into peoples eyes I won't draw any attention from the police. Supposedly, the lens design of the Hella e codes has sort of an eyelid built in to limit the light that is able to go upwards. So the brightest light goes forwards and down. We shall see I suppose, If I was told wrong I will definitely post it.
Though I could definitely see a problem with HID's on a lifted vehicle of any kind. On level ground they will still be shining right in other driver's faces.

Yes the LEDs are expensive, but they will probably outlast your Jeep ....

Just incase anybody want's the trucklite LED's, I got a coupon code card from Quadratec when I ordered my Hella E codes, a lot of good it does me now.
So 10% off if anybody wants it, PS2012TL, apparently you type the code in the search bar.
as far as LED vs. HID, I am using the TruckLite LED vs DDM HID's for this comparison.
LED 3.6amp draw on high beam, HID's use around 5 to 6amps typically.
LED has 2x1300 Lumen LED's, HID's put out 3,200 to 5,000 Lumens each (depends if you get 35w or 55w.
LED - $500,
HID varies but you can probably get out for less then $200 after HID kit and housings of your choice.
For the money, they gotta drop that price a lot if they ever want to sell a set of LED's to me. The only real advantages I see are ease of installation and less power draw.

Look up the DDM tuning link EMTjeep put in. Then about half way down the page, under the order form, look for a link "Bulb Color / Type".
That will give you an idea what 8000k in a 35w will look like. Probably a nice blue tint to the light, but if that is what you are after then go for it.
the 55w will be brighter, by almost 2000 lumens, and if you look at the color chart the white light band will be wider. For example and 8000 k with a 55w is barely getting into blue, but an 8000k in a 35w is well into the blue.
Personally I like the headlights as bright, and as white, as possible. But depending on your taste, that chart should give you a roundabout idea what bulb color and wattage you want. Just note that it says on the bottom "only use as a guide, each car/headlight varies". From what I have read on the other thread, If you use 55w ballasts, move the white band down 1000k.
They didn't use the 35w ballast on that thread so I do not have a clue how that will look on the TJ.
As far as adapter cables, the other guys said you wouldn't need them.
from the issues with jeeps noted on DDM's website, most problems are with the 2007 and up (JK) jeeps. And with those you may need the following.
- Jeep Wrangler - Some require nothing extra, some require Error Code Eliminators (type 3) and '07+
- Jeep Wrangler (2007-present): high/low bulbs - May require 220uF capacitor and a 50v-1a diode to address high beam flickering (https://www.ddmtuning.com/support/in...kbarticleid=46)
No problems noted with TJ's so far. But I ordered the BOW (bulb out warning) eliminators just in case with mine. I will post if i have to use them or not when I get to do the install. Probably next weekend.
