I fiberglassed the scion cover into the factory jeep bezel with some crafty cutting and some bondo. It took about 2 weeks to do. I'm actually thinking of redoing it to fit my cb radio where the ac vents are cause I can't seem to figure out a way to reroute the air. I don't even use the air anyways cause I like to keep the windows down unless it's raining

Sshunter2022 I'm pretty sure I'll be doing a tranny swap as soon as the $ comes in. Thinking of either the nv3550 or the nv4500 not decided yet. But still gotta get them gears swapped out with possibly the 4.56 or 4.88. The little 4banger is a lot stronger than people say it is and I feel like the major limiting factor is the tranny, especially with the 35's. Maybe when I hit over 100k miles I'll look into getting a v8 but for now it's only got just under 10k miles since I replaced it with the new block. Everything else must get upgraded to handle a serious beating!

Sshunter2022 The 4cyl with auto transmission comes with 3.73 gears cause the auto tranny runs a higher rpm than the ax5

Sounds like it must have been swapped, I think all 4cyl do come with the 4.10 gearing. That's at least what I'm 98% sure about

Sshunter2022 So I havnt seen anywhere about a fiberglass deck lid for a tj and I suck working with wood and want something strong, light, and weatherproof so wood is outta the question. Also metal is difficult without proper equipment. And I've done a little work with fiberglass in the past so I figure I'll try to do it. If anybody has any ideas for me, let's hear it! Also some details about the design so far it's Solid in the sides with corner pieces to surround the roll bar. There is going to be a hatch opening 24" wide in the center that can be accessed from the back by a locking handle. You should be able to see what's going on by the pic

Sshunter2022 Almost all the bushings on the stock control arms were bad, nearly a 1/4" of play in all of them so I think that had a lot to do with the DW. Found out the track bar is needing an upgrade too. The long arm was a kit I ordered from rough country.
09-13-2013 02:23 AM
94wrangleryj You build the long arm? Or was this a kit?
09-13-2013 01:42 AM
custer3_5 Any idea of what exactly caused your death wobble?
09-02-2013 08:36 AM
Sshunter2022 Got the long arm upgrade installed finally. I'd say the 2.5" lift flexes quite well. The handling of this is impressive so far, completely changed the drivability of it and the DW seems to have been taken care of

capsfan2013 Good luck with all the build in the coming weeks man! Make sure you post some pics when you get it all done!

Did you try sway bar links? I know when mine were loose it would wobble at highway speed and I was on 31s

He changed the tires, and it was still happening.

I replace the tires with my buddy's old ones which still have 50% tread and still DW happens. I've went underneath and checked all the ball joints and they seem fine and nothing's loose while I have someone turning the wheel. The control arm bushings appear to be a little worn could this be the problem cause I was planning on ordering a long arm kit
