Giancarlo putting larger throttle bottle wont help much since exhaust is still tiny.. it can only take as much air in as it can push out.. make sure all wires and services are up to date that helps a little.. regearing is your best option.. as for exhaust there arent many options.. for a 4 banger..

snwchris For what you would spend on header & exhaust you wont see much in power on the 4banger, but I can see replacing the exhaust for the leak, just dont expect to gain much for HP gains.

Lithium.Jake i was also thinking about putting different headers on, any suggestions on to what make?

afrats ^^^^Ditto. I want 33s on mine and have new 31s, so changing now is not an option.

jdhallissey IF you were closer I would say lets trade!!!!

Lithium.Jake i would really like to take it down to a lower lift and put smaller tires on, but i just dont have the money for something like that, i will eventually, but right now im just trying to find little things here and there to try to put a kick in it.

4Jeepn Welcome... as for the mighty 4 banger.. not a power house as you know. Gear change does help but is not cheap. The odd solution would be to run a smaller tire such as a 30". Granted it might look odd but you would regain some lost power. Then if you do go wheeling, switch back to the 33's.

jdhallissey UMM for exhaust i really don't know. I guess to you could toss some flow master 40's in there and just patch the whole. That is what I am doing but with magna flow.

TeeJay Find a throttle body for a 4.0 and put that on. from what i hear it'll give you more power, but I have no first hand experience with it.

Anybody else?

Lithium.Jake i have to replace the exhaust any suggestions to want kind i should get to try and add a little more??

jdhallissey re-gear it to 4.88's both front and rear. That will give it some pep but your only going to want to travel at 60 mph at most.

not enough

im very sorry for posting this thread i know this has probably been posted a billion times, but browsing i couldnt pick one up. i have a 4 cylinder 1998 wrangler with a 4 1/2 lift with 33's. (personally i wouldnt have put this on but i dont have that kind of money to do away with) i just found a hole in the exhaust and i am going to replace that, but i would like to know some things i could do to put a little kick in my jeep, and have to drive on an uphill highway in 3rd and 4th back and forth so if you could please help i would appreciate it very much.
