I believe that, there were some interesting characters in the ones we visited.

Phil: After reading the post on the GM run this weekend I wish I was going, there's going to be some good entertainment out there

Some good rains and a couple earthquakes have added to the fun factor it sounds like. Maybe next time Mike and I head to BB we will take the TJ and go check it out.

Mike made me download the Waffle House App when we were in Florida, he was afraid he would miss one, haha. Be sure to take pics for us, I think there will be many good photo opportunities on this run

Yea, us men can be pushy to do things. We rented a Mazda 5. That thing has some scoot and turns very very well. I also make the kids chew ginger candy it helps with motion sickness. But again my kids are older so they can be as miserable as they want to be and I can laugh at them all I want to.
Get this car rental $9. Per day unlimited miles. Can't beat that. Advantage rentals. It's the farthest from airport but the price is right.

Well. Just got home from doing my Vegas run. Now I'm home cleaning up to head out to San Diego to visit our grandson. Not sure when I'm going to sleep. But when I'm ready I bet I just crash.

Nice. That's why we spent the night there. The cabins were HOT. No breeze till the morning. It was nice we foraged for papayas, coconuts and guavas for breakfast. There were many vacancy in hotels but are ubber pricy on walk ins (400 to 800) per night. The cabins were 99 and have things to explore including a freezing cold fresh water cave.

Ditchdoc Good morning ladies and gents. Doing laundry today.
Talk about off roading. I had to take a off road and race driving school in Australia when I was a little over 15. First you drive a obstacle corse that will take you all day and that's if you finish. Then at the end of the school you take the same course, two maybe three hours tops.

jeff_in_rc You know as a newbie with only 2 1/2 years or so under my belt I am really cautious when it comes to the skinny pedal, the last thing I want to do is give it too much throttle. So far it has worked well for me and I think coming from a biking background has helped a lot especially with line choice.

As stated before there are times for a little more and there are times to just idle up and or down a trail and it all takes time to learn like anything else in life.

The one thing that drives me nuts is to watch guys that just hammer their way thru something and wonder why they are beating their rigs all to pieces. The you have the other extreme, the guys that NEED a little momentum the get thru it and the REFUSE the give it just a little more throttle! Everybody is different in their thinking which is not a bad thing, it's just the way we are.

XJ_Phil It took me a while to learn to lighten up on the throttle. Even still, once in a while I get that Bonzi attitude and blast past a spot (where less would be more).

It was interesting watching this during the M&G Gold Mountain run -- I remember a few that would come up to an obstacle and punch the gas. I would say to slow down, but some had their windows closed (probably due to rain). Then others would go too slow and Nick and I would tell them to give it a little bump, but they were overcautious.

Definitely a learning curve. I do remember when I was new, I heard a few spotters tell me I'm going too slow, not giving it enough gas.

His first time to the beach yesterday. He wouldn't get off his dads skim board.

Easy crawling all depends where you put your tires, sometimes the difference between running an obstacle and carnage is just one rock, go figure

Thanks Lisa, it works pretty darn well. Never been to the Panamints, gonna have to visit that area, really need to run Isham and some of the other good stuff that hides around there.
