savinlives2448 I currently have 35 12.50 on 15 inch rims. I think I will try going down an inch first. It is that large gap that just don't look right. I like the clearance, but just looks ugly.

jdhallissey nothin wrong with them like jerry said cut them down a little bit and see if you like it then. This weekend you should come on out and have fun at the badlands.

Jerry Bransford 1" body lifts can be a good thing when you only need a tad more tire clearance. They don't raise the COG (center of gravity) as much as a suspension lift does and it's certainly easier to install a 1" BL than to add an additional 1" to a suspension lift height.

That said, I'd never go with more than 1" for a body lift. If I had a 2" BL, I'd probably take the spacers out and cut them down by an inch.

1" bl..

I've got a 1" BL and it's barely noticeable....allows me to have 35's with 4.5" suspension lift, clears the lifted transfer case and the eventual lifted gas tank (when gas tank skid plate is installed). There are numerous add-ons that actually 'require' a minimum 1" BL.

2" is probably noticeable...but not obscene like the 3" BLs...

The primary question is - do you need the BL? i.e. to clear your tires during complete suspension travel? And do you like it?

Giancarlo body lifts just look bad.. dont give really any performance gains.. and in some cases they are even dangerous.. take em out..

jwm1986 Another thing to consider, IMO, is if you ever do Up armor type stuff to gain more clearance, most of those kits I found need a body lift, but only a 1" for most...

jpdocdave i don't like them, if it were mine, i'd take it out. but its just personal preference.

There is nothing wrong with your 2" body lift alot of people don't like them because of the huge gap that's left between the frame and other various reasons more pointed towards your center of gravity being off and the fact your not gaining anything suspension wise just making room for a bigger tire. Chances are if you have a body lift you have lifted motor mounts. If you take the body lift out you will have to go buy stock motor mounts depending on the setup and your trans case shift linkage will have to be readjusted also.
If everything with your jeep works fine why mess with it leave it alone. It really all depends on what your going to be doing with the jeep why go spend all that money on a 6" long arm kit if its just going to be a highway queen, but if your a serious off-roader then go get the 6" and take the body lift out.
