|Jma20a||Go with the kappa components if you plan on adding a sub. The kappas dont have the greatest low frequency response, i let my sub handle the lows and the kappas for the mids,|

I'm going to stick with kicker. I don't want to pay less and then regret it later. Can't wait till I finish my quick discos to start on the subs

Kicker 12" 2ohm 400 rms 800 max
JVC mono amp that is 400 watt rms 800 max @ 2 OHM bridged.
That's not overkill is it?

|spr0k3t||If you're not looking to go "bumping down the street", keep it under 300W RMS @ 2Ohms. A few brands I would look at: Alpine, Focal, Infinity, JBL, JL, Kenwood, Kicker, MTX, Pioneer, Rockford Fosgate, Sony. That will give you a little bump in the rig without making the neighbours notice. Really, what I would do is find the sub you want (make/model) and then look for an amp to pair it up correctly. If you know you want a Kicker, make sure you are not over amping or under amping. The biggest killer of any speaker is clipping, so if it's not a good match it will kill the sub quicker than you think.|

that amp would work better as a paper weight.
that being said, what are you looking to spend on a sub setup?

Sub Guys Help!
I threw together my last sub/amp combo... that got stolen. Looking to replace it all but do it right this time. saw a Formula mach 5175 2 channel amp on craigslist for 40$ Audio Savings | Formula MACH5175 1000 Watt Peak 350 Watt RMS 2 Channel Car Audio Amplifier Amp
If I were to buy that, make my own box, and run it with 1 12" what sub would be a good choice? I want a sub that very affordable.
